The 2024 Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) season has already witnessed over a dozen tournaments. BGMI teams have been participating in back-to-back tournaments, with over 10 to 12 matches being played each day. To ensure BGMI athletes have an appropriate amount of rest, all the BGMI organizations have collectively proposed some changes for third-party Tournament Organizers.
BGMI teams to propose new rules for third party tournaments
Tanmay “Scout” Singh, Owner, Team XSpark recently took to Instagram to share posts outlining the new rules proposed by BGMI teams for third-party Tournament Organizers.
These are the new rules proposed by BGMI teams:
1. Monday off:
Teams suggest implementing Mondays as off-days for tournament staff and participants. This measure aims to promote well-being and prevent burnout among everyone involved.
2. Point of View (POV) and Watchparty streams:
Teams should be allowed to conduct POV (Point of View) and watch party streaming until the semifinals stage of the tournament. This decision could significantly enhance viewer engagement and excitement leading up to the crucial stages.
3.Tournament Days - Prize Pool:
Teams recommend the following prize pool structure for upcoming tournaments:
5 Lakhs: 6 to 7 days, 2 days for Quarters, 2 days for Semis, 3 days for Finals.
10 to 15 Lakhs: 10 to 12 days, 3 days for Quarters, 3 days for Semis, 4 days for Finals.
20 to 25 Lakhs: 15 to 17 days, 5 days for Quarters, 5 days for Semis, 5 days for Finals.
This approach ensures the tournament remains competitive while accommodating the expectations and schedules of both participants and organizers.
4. Prize Pool Terms within 90 days:
It is crucial to ensure that prize pool distributions are completed within 90 days of the tournament's conclusion. Timely distribution fosters trust and transparency and demonstrates a commitment to the well-being of the players and teams involved.
5. Matches/Day/TO:
Teams propose that the quarters, semis, and finals of the tournament consist of 5 matches per day, per organizer. This format allows for a comprehensive and engaging finale while maintaining a reasonable schedule for both players and spectators.
6. Timings 12 PM - 9PM:
Teams propose that tournaments should run from 12 PM to 9 PM. This schedule should also include a lunch break for players, allowing them a meal between matches.
It will be interesting to see if Tournament Organizers agree to these proposed terms and conditions by the BGMI teams or if some more changes will be made to these proposed rules.
