For the first time ever an Indian esports organization, S8UL Esports, has been nominated under a category at The Esports Awards 2022. This is a huge moment that goes on to show just how much esports has grown within the country.

S8UL is one of the 10 finalists that have been shortlisted for the 'Content Group of the Year' award alongside other organizations like 100 Thieves, FaZe Clan, LOUD, One True King, G4TV, Tribo Gaules, OfflineTV, Full Squad Gaming, and Team Summertime.

Additionally, one of the most popular esports personalities from India - Naman "MortaL" Mathur, has also been nominated under the category of 'Esports Personality of the Year'.

For the third year in a row, MortaL has been nominated under a category at The Esports Awards. This time he is up against 11 of the biggest names from across the global esports industry.

The Esports Awards 2022 - Esports Personality of the Year

In 2020, MortaL had created history by becoming the first ever Indian to be nominated for The Esports Awards. Back then he was both an active player and a content creator, which resulted in MortaL finishing second under the category of 'Streamer of the Year' and third in 'Esports Mobile Player of the Year'.

This was followed by MortaL being nominated under the category of 'Streamer of the Year' once again in 2021, but for the second year in a row he was not able to grab the elusive trophy.

Now, MortaL has been nominated for the third time as he successfully completes his hattrick. However this time he is present under the category 'Esports Personality of the Year', and is up against quite a stacked lineup of talent.

"It’s a great moment for S8UL and for me personally as it’s my third successive nomination, fingers crossed, hope this year 'It's Coming Home'," says MortaL, further adding that “Getting nominated in the prestigious ‘Esports Awards’ is in itself a moment of pride. It’s like the Oscars for esports where winners get selected from the best in the world. It’s the biggest recognition for any esports athlete or a team."

They do say that third times the charm, It will be interesting to see if MortaL wins the title this year.
