RSG PH redeemed itself in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9. Despite the team’s struggles, the Kingslayers proved its pro players are more than just a part of a "Chop Suey" team. The two players under RSG PH who have shown significant improvement since their debut in the pro scene were Nathanael "Nathzz" Estrologo and Arvie "Aqua" Antonio. Through a post-match press conference in the MPL PH Season 9, the pro players shared the story of their redemption arc and how they gained confidence in their talent as MLBB pros.

Aqua lauded Coach Panda for unlocking his potential

Aqua has always been one of the underappreciated pro players since his debut in Blacklist International back in Season 5. It did not help when he transferred to Cignal Ultra back in Season 7 where his team finished last with no wins and 13 losses.

His transition to RSG PH allowed him to shine brighter as the team’s Mid Laner. Aqua shared that “When I first started playing ML, it’s always been my dream [to win a championship title].”

Aqua added that all his experiences, since he first started under Blacklist International, it led up to this moment. “When I first started in Blacklist International, all the experiences I went through, all the roles I played. This Season 9, I’m really happy because now we acquired the championship [title]. I learned a lot, it’s like I have unleashed my potential,” the Mid Laner said.

He lauded coach Panda who became his mentor and trained him to become one of the best Mid laners in the MPL PH Season 9. “He put a lot of trust in me, no matter how I play, and what I do in the Bootcamp. I’m so happy because I learned a lot from Coach Panda - experience, fundamentals, all of it,” Aqua said.

Nathzz proved he’s more than just an average pro player

Since his debut back in Season 8, Nathzz has been one of the most promising rookies in the MPL PH scene. While the young prodigy performed well under RSG PH, he showed from time to time that his playstyle needed more refinement.

During the MPL PH Season 9’s grand finals match, Nathzz shocked the fans with his impressive clutch plays against Omega Esports. The EXP Laner made sure to prevent the Comeback King’s marksman specialist Duane “Kelra” Pillas from reaching his power spike. This put Omega Esports in bad situations where it couldn't win team fights due to the lack of damage potential.

Nathzz’s impressive mastery of his own craft paid off as he was awarded the Grand Finals MVP (Most Valuable Player) for the MPL PH Season 9. This achievement boosted his confidence as RSG PH’s star EXP Laner.

Nathzz earned the Grand Finals MVP title.

“I’m happy about my redemption because last season, I was just an average EXP Laner. Now, I feel stronger,” he said. “Though I’m not proclaiming it, I just feel it.”

Nathzz also shared that he is looking forward to facing Indonesia’s top EXP Laners such as RRQ Hoshi’s Rivaldi “R7” Fatah and Onic Esports’ (Indonesia) Muhammad “Butss” Satrya Sanubari.

With the MPL PH Season 9 title in its grasp, RSG PH faces a new challenge ahead. Alongside Omega Esports, the Kingslayers will be competing in the upcoming Mobile Legends Southeast Cup (MSC) 2022 where they will be facing the top-performing MLBB teams in the region.
