Shortly after failing to win the M4 World Championship title, RRQ Hoshi’s star EXP Laner and team captain Rivaldi "R7" Fatah finally decided to take a break after seven seasons of competing in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports scene. The pro player is one of the long-time talents of the Indonesian (ID) squad. R7 previously revealed that he had been dealing with a hand injury but still continued to compete under the RRQ Hoshi squad. The team is yet to officially reveal who will fill the former team captain’s shoes for the upcoming MLBB Professional League (MPL) ID Season 11.
R7 takes a break from competitive MLBB
Hand injuries are a common issue among seasoned MLBB pro players. Veterans like EVOS Legends’ Gustian “REKT” and RRQ Hoshi’s Diky “Tuturu” also suffered from similar health problems leading to the former taking a break and the latter retiring from their career.
Through a YouTube video posted on the official RRQ Hoshi channel, the iconic team captain, R7 announced that he is taking a break from competing in the MLBB esports scene due to a similar issue. According to the iconic veteran, his hand injury greatly limited his capability of performing to his best performance which ultimately led him to take a break from playing competitively.
However, this isn’t the end for the iconic team captain of RRQ Hoshi as he will remain a part of the esports organization and will support the squad behind the scenes until he is ready to return to playing competitively.
“I will continue to support Team RRQ because Season 11 will start soon,” he stated. “I will continue to support them by live streaming on Youtube and many other ways.”
RRQ Hoshi is yet to reveal who will replace R7 as the team captain in the upcoming MPL ID Season 11. Fans will have to keep their eyes peeled for more updates in the future.
