The Pokemon Unite Asia Champions League (ACL) was announced in December last year. This was huge for the Indian gaming community as five teams were granted a chance to compete in the national qualifiers - Pokemon Unite ACL: India League.

When the announcement was made Revenant Esports was the only team occupying a slot in the tournament, as they were the winners of the Pokemon UNITE WCS 2022 - India Championship.

Now that the Pokemon Unite India Open 2022 by Skyesports has concluded, the remaining four slots have also been booked and the national league is all set to start from 8th January onwards.

Pokemon Unite Asia Champions League: India League - Complete Information

The official website for this tournament has shared all the details related to the India League which will be taking place across January and February. Some information is still missing but will be updated before the event kicks off this weekend for all three regions - East Asia, Southeast Asia, and India.

Qualified Teams

A total of five teams have qualified for this tournament, one receiving a direct invite and the other four attaining a slot through the national qualifier hosted by Skyesports.

Schedule and Results

The Pokemon Unite ACL: India League has been divided into two stages - Regular Season and Finals, with the former further being divided into two more stages.

  • Regular Season: Stage 1 - 8th January to 5th February

  • Regular Season: Stage 2 - 12th to 19th February

Format

Regular Season: Stage 1

  • The opening stage of the tournament will feature a round-robin format where all five teams will go against each other once.

  • Every match will be played in a best-of-three series.

  • Based on the overall ranking of teams, the bracket for Stage 2 will be announced.

Regular Season: Stage 2

  • This stage will feature a single-elimination format based on the standings of the previous stage.

  • Every match will be played in a best-of-three series.

  • The top two teams will join the international teams in the Finals, competing as the Indian representatives.

Prize Pool

The total prize pool set aside for this tournament is about $84,500 USD (INR 69,95,662) which will be split between the Regular Season: Stage 2 and Finals.

Livestream

The entire tournament, including both the stages - Regular Season and Finals, will be broadcasted live across various streaming platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch, in two languages - English and Hindi.

Additionally, popular gaming creators from India, Jonathan "JONATHAN" Amaral, Tanmay "Scout" Singh, and Payal "Payal Gaming" Dhare will also be hosting official watch party for the tournament on all match days through the Regular Season.

The competition will be tough between the top five Pokemon Unite teams from across India. Only the top two will get a chance to represent the country on an international stage and walk away as the first-ever champion from Asia.
