Rumors regarding ONIC Philippines’ (PH) plans to disband and sell its slot for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) PH Season 10 have been circulating around the community for quite some time. Some of its members have also been posting on social media, looking for new teams to join. A few of ONIC PH’s star players have also been hinted at being recruited by Indonesian teams. The esports organization has finally decided to address these rumors, as it reassured its fans it will remain as one of the contenders in the upcoming MPL PH Season 10. However, there will be massive roster changes which will be revealed at a later date.

ONIC PH denies disbandment rumors

The esports organization has been posting cryptic hints on its social media handles which led fans to believe that it may be disbanding soon. With a few esports organizations looking to secure a slot for the upcoming MPL season, fans also speculated that ONIC PH may be selling its slot to other teams after it disbands.

It also did not help that the esports organization has been releasing a lot of its Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) pro players as well as its iconic head coach Denver "Yeb" Miranda.

As the rumors kept spreading, ONIC PH then officially denied the rumors that the esports organization was disbanding.

According to a report from SPIN.PH, the organization is merely trying to rebuild and is looking to field a new team roster for the upcoming MPL PH Season 10.

“The plan moving forward is to rebuild ONIC Philippines,” said Paolo Pamintuan, head of business development and strategic partnership at ONIC PH, as quoted by SPIN.PH. “Not just from the MPL side of things, even on the management side of things. Essentially we would initiate [our plans] this season.”

He also denied the rumors that the esports organization is planning to sell its franchise slot in MPL PH. “It might have seemed that it was the direction for ONIC (PH) but it’s not the case,” said Paolo.

As for the release of its pro players, Paolo stated that they are looking for ways to move forward with the best interest in mind. “That’s the general idea, we’re just looking to rebuild now. Let’s see what will happen with the players but rest assured that the ONIC Management is looking out for the best interest of the parties involved,” he explained.

With the rumors regarding ONIC PH’s possible disbandment finally laid to rest, fans can breathe a sigh of relief, and look forward to a new team roster in the upcoming MPL PH Season 10.
