The second week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9 will kick off on 25th Feb. The opening week delivered an unexpected turn of events as the revamped roster of TNC Pro Team and ECHO’s superstar team delivered a stellar performance and became the top teams in the first week’s leaderboard. The defending champion, Blacklist International, had a rough opening week and is currently ranked 6th. The team is looking to recover from its early struggles and deliver a solid performance in the second week of the MPL PH Season 9.
What to expect in the MPL PH Season 9 Week 2
The first week concluded with TNC Pro Team sitting comfortably at the top, thanks to the impressive performance of its MVP collector, Shemaiah Daniel "SDzyz" Chu who earned three MVP titles in the first week of the MPL PH Season 9. With a solid lineup, TNC Pro Team may just have what it takes to defend its position in the MPL PH Season 9 Week 2.
ECHO’s superstar lineup proved its naysayers wrong after securing consecutive clean sweep victories against Bren Esports and Omega Esports. The team is led by the "TzyBrothers," namely Karl Gabriel "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno, Jankurt Russel "KurtTzy" Matira, and Frediemar Alaga "3MarTzy" Serafico who showcased unwavering team chemistry alongside the former Nexplay EVOS star player Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera. The match between ECHO and TNC Pro Team will definitely be an interesting match to look forward to in the second week of the MPL PH Season 9.

Nexplay EVOS’s amateur standouts spearheaded the team to reach third place in the first week of the MPL PH Season 9. One of the noteworthy rookies, Michael "MP the King" Endino admitted that his impressive jungle playstyle was highly influenced by Blacklist International’s Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario. While Nexplay EVOS fell to RSG PH, it managed to take down last season’s runner-up, ONIC PH. Nexplay EVOS aims to maintain its momentum and possibly climb higher in the leaderboards in the MPL PH Season 9 Week 2.
RSG PH is yet to show its full potential as it only played one match series in the first week. However, it managed to take down Nexplay EVOS with a clean sweep victory. It will be interesting to see what more surprises RSG PH has in store for its fans in the upcoming second week of the MPL PH Season 9.
After securing a runner-up finish in the previous season, ONIC PH aims to secure the championship title this time around. While the team managed to take down the defending champion, Blacklist International, the team struggled hard against the amateur standouts of Nexplay EVOS. The team chemistry of its veteran players will be put to test as this season’s rookies are looking quite formidable.
The bottom teams - Blacklist International, Bren Esports, and Omega Esports had a rough start in the MPL PH Season 9. Without any victories, they may have to double their efforts and build each of their team's chemistry if they want to stand a chance in the second week of the MPL PH Season 9.
