One of the most popular mobile gaming titles in India, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) faced a massive blow last year. The battle royale was banned by the Indian Government in July 2022 and so far the matter has not been resolved with Krafton trying its best to revoke its suspension in the country.

Despite the critical condition of the game, the hype around this competitive title is still very much alive with multiple professional BGMI teams from India popping up on the list of most searched PUBG Mobile / BGMI teams globally on Liquipedia in 2022.

Here are the most searched BGMI teams from 2022

The online esports encyclopedia, Liquipedia, recently released a list of the most visited pages for PUBG Mobile / BGMI teams in 2022 and surprisingly the most popular mobile gaming organization from India, Team SouL, claimed the top spot globally.

However, something that needs to be noted here is that the website cannot be directly accessed by the general public from China, as it has been banned by its national government. So all Chinese fans have to connect via a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to check any team or player pages.

This could have contributed to the fact that some of the most popular organizations from the country failed to grab the top spots on the list and were in fact lower than one would have expected them to rank.

Taking the international teams and organizations out of the list above we get the most popular BGMI teams that were searched for in 2022 by users from all over the world.

  1. Team SouL

  2. GodLike

  3. Team XSpark

  4. TSM

Within India, SouL is hands down the most popular BGMI team with quite the history, but it was certainly surprising to see them top the global list. Other teams from the country were expected with some of the biggest BGMI stars playing under their respective banners.

It is certainly a great sight to see four teams and organizations from India pop up on a worldwide list which consists of some big names like Bigetron, Nova, NAVI, S2G, Secret, and others.

It will be interesting to see what the 2023 competitive season has in store for all the BGMI players and teams across India, all of them patiently awaiting the return of the mobile title.
