BloodThirstyKing’s team captain Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun has encountered a lot of obstacles during his stay in the Philippines (PH). The pro player has experienced firsthand how formidable the region’s meta is in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). MobaZane even admitted that the Philippines may be the hardest MLBB server he has experienced yet. As a tourist in the Philippines, MobaZane recently faced one of the toughest challenges for foreigners who are looking to experience the unusual street foods in the region. In one of his YouTube vlogs, the BTK team captain tried the Balut, one of the most popular street foods in the region.
MobaZane tried the Balut Challenge
One of the most common challenges that foreigners do when they step into the region is the Balut Challenge. Some people would say that you’ve never visited the Philippines if you haven’t tried Balut.
Balut is a fertilized developing bird egg (usually duck) embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell. It is commonly sold in the region as street food.
Through a vlog posted on 12th April, the North American (NA) MLBB pro player took on the Balut challenge. MobaZane managed to finish the soup inside the egg but was shocked to know that he also needed to eat what was inside the egg.
“I thought you just drink it,” said the BTK captain. “I don’t think I can do that.”
As MobaZane was skeptical about eating what was inside the egg, his companions told him that “It’s good! When you eat that, you’re an approved Filipino!”
As a pro player who doesn’t back down from a challenge, the BTK captain took a bite of the egg embryo and instantly regretted his decision and threw the whole egg away.
“I’m not doing this bro!” said MobaZane.
Despite failing to finish his Balut, the pro player managed to gain the respect of his Filipino fans. Even Gemik, one of the foreigner streamers and content creators in the Philippines joined the comments section and reminisced about his first experience eating the unusual Filipino street food.
MobaZane was offered another round of Balut but respectfully declined the offer. Needless to say, he has had enough Balut for a day.
As the BTK captain said in his previous streams, his trip to the Philippines is more focused on making content and playing with or against the strongest pro players, streamers, and casual players in the region. Fans can look forward to seeing more content from MobaZane as he continues his Filipino adventures.
