The North American (NA) esports organization, Avalon Esports, announced its acquisition of the iconic Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) pro player Michael "MobaZane" Cosgun. While the full roster is yet to be revealed, two of the former The Valley players have been confirmed to be part of the squad. Avalon Esports recently finished second place in the NA Challenger Tournament (NACT) Fall 2023, a Moonton-partnered esports event that also served as a local qualifier stage for the M5 World Championship.

As of now it is unknown whether MobaZane’s former team BloodThirstyKings (BTK) shall disband or whether it will continue to compete without its team captain.

MobaZane leaves BTK to join Avalon Esports

Through a Facebook post on 29th October 2023, Avalon Esports unveiled that it has acquired one of the seasoned veterans of the legendary BTK squad, MobaZane.

“Avalon is back with 2/5 of our roster for the 2024 season, can’t wait to battle it out on the land of dawn with Basic Gaming [and] MobaZane,” the post captioned.

So far, three players have been unveiled including MobaZane and its staple members Peter "Basic" Lozano, and D3mon. The team is looking to keep its momentum going after its runner-up finish in the NACT Fall 2023 and aims to secure a world championship slot next year.

While the full roster is yet to be announced, fans are hoping that the team also acquires BTK's seasoned veteran Ian "FwydChickn" Hohl.

MobaZane and Basic were former teammates back when they played under The Valley. Their team was able to compete in the M4 World Championship but delivered an upsetting run for the fans as it finished in 5th-6th place.

After their world-series run, the two players went their separate ways with MobaZane rebuilding the BTK squad whereas Basic joined Avalon Esports. The two teams competed in the recently concluded NACT Fall 2023 where BTK finished in third place and Avalon Esports in second place.

It will be interesting to see how Avalon Esports shall perform in next year’s MLBB tournaments with MobaZane in its roster.
