The Indonesian (ID) powerhouse team, RRQ, officially announced its venture into the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports scene in the Philippines (PH). The esports organization had hinted at expanding to the PH region back in March 2023. It was not until recently that the organization officially announced RRQ Kaito, the team that shall compete in the upcoming Mobile Legends Development League Philippines (MDL PH) Season 2. This shall be the third region that the renowned King of Kings has invested in alongside its teams from Indonesia and Brazil.

RRQ unveils MDL PH roster

Having already made a name for itself with successful ventures in Indonesia and Brazil with RRQ and RRQ Akira, respectively, the renowned King of Kings is now venturing into the booming esports scene of the Philippines with its MDL team, RRQ Kaito.

Leading the team’s charge is the veteran player Kenneth "Kenji" Villa, who previously showcased his skills as a member of RSG PH during the MPL PH Season 10. Supporting him are two other promising players, Janus "Y4nusu" Badando, formerly of Cignal Ultra, and Karl "Karl" Rouvic Devosora, a former TODAK import. The roster is further bolstered by the inclusion of Ferdz, Shocker, and Dai Ki.

This isn't RRQ's first venture into the Philippine esports scene. The organization already has a VALORANT team based in the region, showcasing its commitment to explore and nurture talent across different competitive titles. In 2021, RRQ also fielded a Wild Rift team; however, the team was disbanded earlier this year.

The full roster of RRQ Kaito for the MDL PH Season 2 is as follows;

  • Kenneth “Kenji” Villa

  • Karl “Karl” Rouvic Devosora

  • Janus “Y4nusu” Badando

  • Ferdz

  • Shocker

  • Dai Ki

The official start date of the MDL PH Season 2 is yet to be announced. The tournament features a total of twelve teams, eight of which are sister teams to prominent competing organizations in the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) PH.

It will be interesting to see how RRQ’s PH division performs against the top teams in the region in the upcoming MDL PH Season 2.
