Nexplay EVOS redeemed itself from its loss yesterday with an impressive 2-0 clean sweep victory against TNC Pro Team in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 10. The team’s new recruit Karl Mico "Micophobia" Tarala Quitlong stole the spotlight as he spearheaded the White Tigers into its first win in the regular season. Through a postmatch press conference, the former ONIC PH star said he feels confident which enabled him to put forth his best performance as he has been given the chance to be part of the team’s main five squad. He is also looking forward to their next matchup as he shall face his former teammate Nowee "Ryota" Cabailo, who is now the last remaining veteran member of ONIC PH.

Nexplay EVOS sweeps TNC Pro Team to claim its first win in the MPL PH Season 10

The revamped squad of Nexplay EVOS displayed more of its dominant presence against one of the strongest teams in the previous season. While the team suffered a 1-2 loss against Blacklist International in its previous match, the team redeemed itself with a dominant clean sweep victory against TNC Pro Team.

However, Nexplay EVOS’ series did not go as smoothly as it expected. In the first round, the team struggled to close the match as the Phoenix squad stood tall with its tank-centered lineup. However, a backdoor outplay made by Micophobia’s Natalia at the 14-minute mark was all it took to close the first game of the series.

The White Tigers continued their momentum in the second game with a four-man knockout at the 20-minute mark. Robee “Yasuwo” Pormocille’s Wanwan desperately tried to defend the base in a 3v1 fight but was made quick work of by Mariusz "Donut" Villamero Tan’s Beatrix to close the series.

Micophobia revealed he was able to adjust easily with his teammates in Nexplay EVOS

Through a postmatch press conference, Micophobia shared how he was able to perform impressive plays as Natalia. According to him, the trust his teammates put in him allowed the former ONIC PH star to perform amazing feats such as the backdoor outplay during the first game against TNC Pro Team.

“Actually, I’ve been playing Natalia since Season 7 but I only recently had the chance to pick her [in MPL] since my teammates put a lot of trust in me,” said Micophobia.

He added that it was a last-ditch effort to end the game before TNC Pro Team could secure any breathing room to potentially make a comeback.

“I didn’t expect that I would be able to pull it off since I was thinking of recalling, since I have no skills and no HP so I just made a risk and gambled,” stated Micophobia.

After pulling off impressive plays in the first two days of the MPL PH Season 10, the star roamer feels confident that he can keep up with the best players with the help of his current team.

“This season, we quickly built our synergy because they're easy to approach. It only took one week and we’re all ok,” Micophobia explained.

Nexplay EVOS is set to face ONIC PH in the second week of the MPL PH Season 10 on 20th August at 4:00 PM (PHT). TNC Pro Team will have one more chance to secure a win against Bren Esports on 14th August at 6:00 PM (PHT) before the first week concludes.
