The upcoming league will add two slots which will be given to the best teams from two women’s league tournaments. MDL ID Teams Up with WSL to Pioneer Inclusion of Women's Teams in MLBB Esports
Inclusivity has been one of the main goals of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Esports from the grassroots level of MDL and MPL to the grand stages of international competitions like MSC (Mid Season Cup) and M Series.
For the first time, MDL ID Season 10 is taking a bold step forward in championing inclusivity by partnering with the Women's Star League (WSL) to introduce all-female teams into the competition.
This initiative will see two slots reserved for the most formidable women’s teams in Indonesia to showcase their prowess in the upcoming season. The selection process will be rigorous yet fair, with one team chosen from the winner of WSL Season 8 and another from the top-ranked Indonesian team on the WSL Invitational 2024 leaderboard. In the event that the WSL Season 8 Champion also secures the top spot on the leaderboard in WSL Invitational 2024, the second slot will be awarded to the next highest-ranked Indonesian team on the leaderboard
This collaboration not only underscores the ongoing dialogue surrounding gender equality within the MLBB community but also seeks to answer the age-old question: Can ladies teams compete with professional men's teams in a tournament setting? According to Azwin Nugraha, Moonton Esports Indonesia Public Relations Manager, MDL Indonesia's inclusion of ladies teams aligns seamlessly with its mission to make esports accessible to all and foster growth within the community.
