Fan-favorite Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) player John "H2wo" Salonga recently opened up about his unexpected journey in the esports scene. Despite his initial concerns about his future in the league, H2wo found himself at a crossroads after his tenure with RSG PH came to an end. Taking an unplanned hiatus, he reflected on his career and embraced the chance to savor life beyond the competitive scene. However, fate had other plans, leading him to reevaluate his path. Expressing gratitude to Omega Esports for extending a lifeline, H2wo eagerly anticipates his return to the MPL PH Season 13, recognizing the team's faith in him during a challenging period of transition.
H2wo believes his MLBB career is far from over
Through an interview with MPL PH shoutcaster Manjean "Manjean" Faldas, H2wo reflected on his life choices and shared the backstory of how he ended up joining Omega Esports.
“I ended up in Omega [Esports] when Doc Ribo [Carlito Jr.] messaged me. He said the manager of Omega reached out to me so I checked my messages,” he shared.
He added that it was a surprise for him as he expected no team would want him due to his performance in previous league seasons.
“I was surprised because I expected no team would acquire me because I’m not at the top of my game anymore and I haven’t practiced or played enough,” H2wo explained.
The seasoned veteran shared his appreciation for Omega Esports as the esports organization still believes in his potential despite a rather upsetting performance in his previous season runs.
H2wo is arguably one of the most popular MLBB talents in the Philippines. The pro player was part of the iconic “Big Three” of Nexplay Esports with Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera and Renejay "Renejay" Barcase. However, the trio eventually went their separate ways with Yawi now playing under AURA Fire and Renejay on an indifinite hiatus under Blacklist International.
It will be interesting to see how H2wo performs under Omega Esports in the upcoming MPL PH Season 13.
