Ghatak gives an insightful interview during the BGMI ‘The Launch Party’
Krafton officially launched BGMI for Android users on July 2, 2021, and later also announced the first esports tournament of this new game., the BGMI ‘The Launch Party.’
In an interview that was broadcast during the event, Ghatak expressed his thoughts on what BGMI can contribute to the esports scene. The game, he believes, can take Indian esports to new heights and everyone will work together to make it happen.
"This game is set to take the esports scene in India to new heights in the near future. My expectations are not only those of myself but of existing and upcoming esports personalities who believe that only this game can take the country's esports scene to new heights. In my opinion and experience with various representatives of the game, I believe we will together take this game forward."Ghatak
Having only been released a week ago after much anticipation, Ghatak also provided his first reactions to the game.
"Man, I had been waiting for this game for a long time. Finally, the game is here. I am very excited, I mean the country and I were excitedly waiting for when we could play this game. With the same excitement, we have begun playing it now."Ghatak
Ghatak previously played for top Indian PUBG Mobile teams like TSM Entity and served as the team's coach. His major achievements during this time included winning the PUBG Mobile Club Open - Fall Split: South Asia and finishing second in the PUBG Mobile Pro League - Spring Split 2020: South Asia RS and the PUBG Mobile Pro League - Spring Split 2020: South Asia Finals.
Ghatak emphasized the importance of 'synergy, coordination, and team bonding' in order to succeed at a game like BGMI.
"There are some things. One is coordination, the second is synergy, and the third is gameplay. In India, there is a dialogue quite popular that stars emerge from every corner of the city. There is no question that this is the case, but the most important thing is the synergy, coordination, and bond that is formed when the four players play together. This allows them to play even better. That is the most important thing. There is a lot of positivity in the team atmosphere then."Ghatak
Krafton claims to have specifically designed BGMI for the Indian market. Ghatak, in the end, spoke on how patriotism emerges in a case such as this one.
“We have this feeling of patriotism, and when we know that the game is made specifically for India, then the patriotic feelings automatically light up, which is a very good thing. In my opinion, the entire audience will take the game in a positive way and begin playing it.”Ghatak
The BGMI ‘The Launch Party’ will be played from 8th to 9th July 2021, featuring a total of 18 teams that will be competing for the chunk of the INR 6,00,000 ($8,042 USD) prize pool. Team GHATAK is made up of SENSEI, IMMORTAL, Punkk, and Clowny, as well as himself.
