The recent trend of foreign teams looking to acquire Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) pro players from the Philippines (PH) is one of the hot topics in the community. In relation to this, EVOS Legends’ head coach Bjorn "Zeys" Ong alleges that one of the Indonesian (ID) teams Geek Fam is also looking to acquire Filipino pro players. According to Zeys, the team will have some members from the Philippines competing in the upcoming Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) season. Recent news also revealed that some pro players from the Philippines are receiving offers from Indonesian teams with salaries going as high as six digits.

Geek Fam allegedly acquired PH pro players for its MLBB roster

The head coach of EVOS Legends, Zeys, is one of the few Indonesian esports personalities that shared his interest in acquiring Filipino pro players for his own team. Through a recent livestream on 29th June, he revealed one more team who is looking to jump into the trend.

According to Zeys, fans can expect Geek Fam to field some Filipino pro players in its roster for the upcoming MPL season.

"I’ll leak this, guys, Geek Fam has people from PH, I swear guys, Geek Fam has people from PH," said the EVOS Legends head coach.

Geek Fam is yet to confirm whether it shall have PH pro players in its MLBB roster for the upcoming season.

There are hints that some foreign teams are indeed looking to acquire pro players from the PH region. This was revealed by ONIC PH’s EXP Laner Dlar. Omega Esports’ star Gold Laner Kelra was also allegedly offered a six digit salary by an undisclosed Indonesian team. For now, only the North American (NA) team BloodThirstKings (BTK) has confirmed to have acquired a PH pro player for its lineup.

If the foreign teams do acquire more pro players from the Philippines, this shall give aspiring rookies a chance to shine in the MLBB esports scene and possibly be acquired by other PH teams for the upcoming MPL PH Season 10.
