Yawi shared his thoughts regarding the usage of the Purify Spell on the Mobile Legends hero Brody.
According to Yawi, using Purify spell on Brody is not recommended.
Brody players are better off using Flicker instead of Purify to maximize his damage potential and mobility.

ECHO Philippines’ (PH) star roamer Tristan "YAWI" Cabrera shared why he thinks the Purify spell is not recommended when playing Brody in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). The pro player talked about how the hero lacks mobility which makes Flicker the best spell to use. Choosing Purify would only make Brody less mobile which is not a good trade-off for a temporary CC (Crowd Control) immunity. The Mobile Legends caster Frederick Handy "Mirko" Loho also has similar thoughts about Brody using Purify in matches. This was explained during the International Esports Federation (IESF) World Esports Championship 2023 - Southeast Asia Regional Qualifiers where he was a part of the match commentators.

Why the Purify spell is not recommended for Brody in Mobile Legends?

During one of Yawi’s livestreams, the pro player went against a Brody user who chose to bring the Purify spell into matches. The pro player expressed his disappointment, asking fans to not commit the same mistake as his opponent.

“Guys, don’t copy that. Don’t go Purify on Brody cause he is too slow,” explained Yawi. “I’m helping you guys, Brody is so slow yet you chose to bring Purify?”

He further elaborated that the best Battle Spell to bring for Brody would be Flicker as it allows the hero to compensate for his lack of mobility and adds more counterplay potential.

“If you use Flicker on Brody, you can do micro… you can do a solo kill in lane but on Purify, no,” he added.

He also warned players about going tank on Brody. This strategy was quite effective back in 2021 and was popularized by pro players like Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno. However, with the recent changes to the meta, this strategy is no longer viable.

“You chose to be a marksman so you can carry yet you go tank?” Yawi stated. “In that case, just pick POS 5.”

Purify Brody in Pro Play

The Brody x Purify Spell combo was seen in the recently concluded IESF World Esports Championship 2023 - Southeast Asia Regional Qualifiers during the match between Bahrain and United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Bahrain’s Gold Laner MAD went for a Brody with a Purify spell which proved to be a problem for the team. According to Mirko, this makes the hero an easy target for ganks with little options for escape.

“One of the weaknesses for Brody is not being able to… dish out the right amount of damage for the Torn Apart Memory and getting in range for it,” He explained. “Without the Flicker, it does take away a lot of that early game to mid-game pressure for Brody.”

Mirko speculated that the Flicker spell was chosen to counter the enemy Atlas’s ultimate ability. However, Mirko explained why choosing a Battle Spell to counter only one hero is not advisable.

“When you go for the Purify in the Brody, no Flicker means that you are very susceptible to everyone else,” Mirko explained. “You don’t go for one Battle Spell [just] for one dude unless you can really afford to.”

Yaw and the ECHO squad are preparing for the upcoming Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 11 playoffs stage. It shall be interesting to see who will claim this season’s championship title.
