ECHO secured the second upper bracket playoffs slot in the MPL PH Season 11.

The competition is heating up as the final week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 11 is nearing its conclusion. One of the most surprising events that transpired in the final week was when ECHO’s star roamer Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera went on the offensive and started taunting Omega Esports after winning the series. Through a post-match interview, the pro player explained why he made such gestures towards their opponents, claiming that someone from the opposing team was taunting him from behind the scenes. Yawi did not reveal who was the person from Omega Esports he is referring to.

Yawi makes a statement after dominating Omega Esports with a 2-0 victory

Shortly after the match between the M4 World Champion ECHO and the renowned comeback kings Omega Esports, fans witnessed Yawi throwing taunting gestures toward his opponents.

Through a post-match interview with MPL PH Season 11 host Mara Aquino, the pro player elaborated on why he made those gestures towards Omega Esports.

“Omega [Esports] trashtalked me behind my back, someone said that to me so I just returned the favor,” Yawi explained.

Through a post-match press conference, Yawi elaborated on his previous statement.

“It’s a private matter, but I heard from someone, it’s not just one person. I saw something bad during the first round with Omega, then I saw the trashtalk, someone showed something to me,” he added. “I was itching for a comeback so I waited for the match against Omega Esports, I want to get my revenge through the game and crush them.”

While it looked like Yawi has a grudge against some members of Omega Esports, he clarified that it was not the case.

“Outside the game, I have no problems with them, only in the game,” the ECHO roamer explained.

ECHO’s victory over Omega Esports earned it the second playoffs seed at the top for the MPL PH Season 11. The remaining competition shall determine which teams shall secure the last remaining lower bracket playoffs slot.
