Two of Bren Esports’ core members, Allan "Lusty" Castromayor and Karl "Karltzy" Nepomuceno praised one of the team’s rookies, Muj “Malik” Malik after the team’s successful run in the opening day of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 8 Week 3. The team managed to break free from its losing streak after defeating Omega Esports with a clean sweep score of 2-0, in favor of Bren Espors. The team’s head coach, Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro also stated that the young prodigy still has a lot to learn and the team will be here to help him all the way.
Malik impresses Bren Esports’ veteran members
As promised by Bren Esports in a post-match press conference on 4th Sept 2021, fans will be seeing the rookies in action during the third week of the MPL PH Season 8. This decision may prove to be a blessing for the team as they finally broke free from the losing streak they had over the last two weeks of the tournament.
One of the rookies, Malik, received a pat on the back from one of Bren Esports’ star players, KarlTzy. Through a post-match conference after their successful match against Omega Esports, the star player expresses his satisfaction when playing with the rookie.
“I don’t want to raise his ego too much, but I like how he plays,” stated KarlTzy. “That gold laner gameplay is what I like, he definitely dives. He can keep up with my aggressiveness.”
Fans know that KarlTzy rarely praises anyone’s gameplay, so Malik receiving praise from the star player may be a sign that he is on the right path.
Bren Esports’ coach, on the other hand, believes that the young rookie still has room for improvement. He added that Malik can keep growing as an esports pro player and the team will be here to help him move forward.
“There is a lot that he can improve, we’ll discuss this tomorrow on what we can do moving forward,” stated Duckeyyy.
Lusty also made comments regarding Malik’s performance on their very first victory in the MPL PH Season 8. The Bren Esports jungler jokingly stated that Malik changed the mood of the team for the better as he is quite outgoing which made the environment quite pleasant and fun.
“I’m a little bit proud, I never saw him in scrims so I didn’t trust him,” stated Lusty. “His impact is that he changed the mood while playing because he is too noisy and sometimes annoying.”
Malik contributed most to the success of Bren Esports during the match between Omega Esports. The young prodigy excelled in the gold lane, giving KarlTzy the trite opening in teamfights and allowed the team to dominate the match. The match ended with a match score of 2-0 in favor of Bren Esports.
It will be interesting to see if Bren Esports will be able to keep its momentum going with the help of its promising rookies in the MPL PH Season 8.
