The Battlegrounds Mobile India Masters Series (BGMS) Season 2 has been quite exhilarating with many ups and downs. Experienced teams have found it difficult to compete in the tournament. Upcoming teams like OneBlade and Lucknow Giants struggled in the initial stages but have shown their prowess in the later half of the event. The playoffs were not up to the mark for teams like Team Soul, Entity, and Chemin Esports as they were unable to win important moments and the grab the necessary points for themselves.
OR Esports dominated the playoffs and was placed at the top of the table with 69 points and a chicken dinner. Medal Esports placed second with 66 points and a chicken dinner. Velocity Gaming closely followed these teams and secured the third spot with 63 points and a chicken dinner. Enigma Gaming accumulated 55 points and was placed fourth with a chicken dinner. Team 8Bit grabbed the fifth spot with 54 points.
Team X Spark and Team Soul were tied with 41 points each on the twelfth and thirteenth spot. Although the teams tied in total points, Team X Spark qualified for the Grand Finals because of higher placement points.
BGMS Season 2 playoffs match summary
Experienced teams like Team Soul and Entity did not impress the fans and failed to qualify for the Grand Finals. On the other hand OneBlade grabbed an important chicken dinner in the last match on Day 2 of the playoffs and secured its Grand Finals spot.
Day 1 Match 1 Erangel: Velocity Gaming showed amazing teamwork and rotations and grabbed the chicken dinner with 21 total points. But Medal Esports accumulated the most number of points from the match with 25 total points. Numen Gaming followed them with 21 points. While WSB Gaming managed 13 points, Gods Reign got 11 points for its efforts.
Day 1 Match 2 Sanhok: Enigma Gaming preferred a position based gameplay and grabbed a chicken dinner with just 2 kills and 17 total points. Team 8Bit secured 18 important points with amazing rotations. OR Esports received 17 points for their efforts while Team X Spark and Orangutan got 15 points each. Chemin Esports took advantage of the powerplay and eliminated Team Soul to secure 8 points in the first zone.
Day 1 Match 3 Miramar: Team 8Bit ended Day 1 of the playoffs with an amazing chicken dinner and 25 total points. Gods Reign showed some amazing teamwork and rotation to grab 25 points. WSB Gaming and Enigma Gaming secured 14 and 11 points respectively. Team X Spark and Orangutan grabbed 5 points each.
Day 2 Match 1 Erangel: OR Esports continued its momentum and grabbed a chicken dinner with 26 total points. Velocity Gaming secured 22 points for some amazing display of skills. Enigma Gaming and Lucknow Giants started Day 2 on a good note with 19 and 13 points respectively.
Day 2 Match 2 Sanhok: Medal Esports outclassed OneBlade and secured a chicken dinner with 25 total points. OneBlade also grabbed 21 important points for itself. Gladiator Esports made a comeback and secured 14 points. Orangutan and OR Esports accumulated 12 points each. OneBlade took advantage of the powerplay and eliminated Enigma Gaming in a drop clash to secure 8 points in the first zone.
Day 2 Match 3 Miramar: The last match of the day was an important one for many teams and things got interesting when all the bottom placed teams were the last four teams alive to grab the chicken dinner. OneBlade showed patience in the final circles and grabbed an important chicken dinner to secure its Grand Finals spot. Team Soul made a comeback and secured 23 total points with 11 finish points. Gladiator Esports also grabbed 19 points which helped it to just about qualify for the Grand Finals.
Here are the overall standings after Day 1 and 2 of the playoffs. The top 12 teams have qualified for the Grand Finals.
BGMS Season 2 was not the best for many experienced teams like Revenant Esports, Team Godlike, Team Soul and Entity. The surprising elimination from the events were Revenant Esports and Team Soul as they had dominated recent third party tournaments and the Launch week of BGMS Season 2. Team Soul made a comeback a little too late and was eliminated from the tournament on the basis of placement points as it tied with Team X Spark at 41 points.
