The multinational technology conglomerate, Tencent, announced the Bangladesh Championship Arena of Valor (AOV) 2021. It is a major competitive event for its mobile MOBA title and for its players in Bangladesh. The tournament boasts a massive ৳ 2,400,000 BDT ($28,087 USD) prize pool along with a mix of online and offline events. The Bangladesh Championship AOV 2021 will start with the City Qualifier where participants from three cities - Dhaka, Khulna, and Chittagong will compete in their respective cities for a spot in the City Final. The top two teams from each city will participate in the Bangladesh Championship AOV 2021 grand finals and claim the championship title.

Bangladesh Championship AOV 2021 Details

With the rise of mobile esports on the global stage, Tencent is now taking the opportunity to expand its horizon into the AOV esports scene. With the release of the South Asia server for AOV, the game has acquired quite the following in the region of Bangladesh.

To celebrate this milestone, Tencent will host a tournament called the Bangladesh Championship AOV 2021 featuring ৳ 2,400,000 BDT ($28,087 USD) prize pool and a few interesting mechanics to challenge aspiring pro players.

This tournament will start with online qualifiers that will span across three cities. The best teams from these three cities will compete offline at a physical location for the finals

Bangladesh Championship AOV 2021 Format

Qualifier Stage

  • Three cities will host their own online championships. The cities mentioned are Dhaka, Khulna, and Chittagong.

  • Dhaka will have 24 registered teams, Khulna will have 32 registered teams, and Chittagong will have 64 registered teams for the qualifier stage.

  • The tournament finals of each city will be held offline and will feature six teams aiming to take the local championship title.

  • The top two teams from each city will proceed to the Bangladesh Championship AOV 2021 Grand Finals.

  • The tournament offers free meals for the participating teams of each city finals and it will be managed by the tournament organizing committee.

Wild Card Entry

  • Teams which get eliminated from the city qualifiers will get a second chance to participate in the Bangladesh Championship AOV 2021 Grand Finals.

  • The Wild Card round will be held online.

  • The top two teams from the Wild Card round will proceed to the grand finals alongside the six teams from the qualifiers stage.

Grand Finals

  • The grand finals will feature the top six teams from the City Qualifier alongside the two teams from the Wild Card Round.

  • The Bangladesh Championship AOV 2021 Grand Finals will be held offline at a physical venue in Dhaka.

  • The cost of accommodation for the participants of the grand finals will be provided by the tournament organizing committee.

It seems like Bangladesh’s mobile esports scene is starting to flourish, it will be interesting to see if Arena of Valor becomes one of the major esports titles for the region.
