Arena of Valor and Honor of Kings to Join Forces for AoV World Cup 2022
Arena of Valor is all set to go global with its 2022 World Cup tournament.
Arena of Valor (AoV) has announced a huge expansion of its esports ecosystem along with a new format for its AoV World Cup 2022, which will witness AoV teams from across the world joining forces with teams from Chinese MOBA juggernaut, Honor of Kings (HoK). Not only this, AoV has also announced that the AoV World Cup (AWC) 2022 will be taking place in the month of October, featuring a total prize pool of more than $8,000,000 USD.
To maintain competitive integrity, fairness, and balance, the AWC will be making use of a new esports version of the game, which will be using a mixture of heroes from both AoV and HoK.
Arena of Valor announces huge changes to its esports ecosystem
One of the biggest changes that AoV has introduced is the format of its flagship tournament, Arena of Valor World Cup 2022. Until this year, the AWC was limited to teams from Southeast Asia and East Asia competing in it with a significantly lower prize pool.
However, from next year onwards, AWC plans on going truly international as it expands to multiple regions from around the world. AWC 2022 will witness teams from Asia, North America, South America, Europe, and Middle East, participate in this grand event.
The number of slots for the tournament will remain the same, 16. This means that the competition to grab one of the available spots will be increase multifold while also providing "more opportunities for teams from around the world to qualify through the regional tournaments".
Arena of Valor has also revealed that AWC 2022 will be taking place in the month of October while featuring a total prize pool of more than $8,000,000 USD. More information about the tournament like schedule and tournament structure, will be announced in the next few months.
From local to regional pro leagues, the new system will allow top teams to fight their way up the ladder in hopes of obtaining a slot at the AWC. A full competitive roadmap alongside details on the new leagues as well as the Arena of Valor International Championship will be announced in the next few months.Arena of Valor
