Goonjar Amanes, the person in charge of League Operations at KRAFTON Inc., has posted a job listing on LinkedIn for a Senior Esports Consultant. The role will be located at KRAFTON’s India headquarters in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The description says the organization wants a ‘creator (of) marketing strategies and creative campaigns and to handle some of KRAFTON’s India brand initiatives’. This is likely another development in a series of efforts by the organization to bring PUBG Mobile back to India. KRAFTON is bringing in a larger presence, hiring almost a dozen people in India including past hirings of Aneesh Aravind as country manager and an operations team for their Bengaluru office.
Contents of the KRAFTON job description
Details posted in the job description revealed that KRAFTON has some plans for online events in the future with the managers being responsible for organizing and overseeing live or online esports events. They may be required to develop strategies, work with different departments and partners on content, and ensure everything is in place to oversee a successful event.
The responsibilities listed also focus on content as the senior esports consultant will have to develop and execute creator marketing strategies and creative campaigns utilizing a roster of creators, in close collaboration with KRAFTON’s content, marketing, and partnerships departments. They will also have to build relationships, track and manage collaborations with creators, and ensure they feel supported through the entire process while identifying ways to improve their craft.
KRAFTON Inc. is adding more people to its Bengaluru headquarters
In Dec. 2020 KRAFTON appointed Aneesh Aravind as country manager, based in their Bangalore headquarters. The organization also hired an operations team consisting of
- Akash Jumde as the Visual Content Designer
- Piyush Agarwal as Finance Manager
- Arpita Priyadarshini as Senior Community Manager
- Karan Pathak as Senior Esports Manager
All of the above four members have worked at similar posts in Tencent in the past.
PUBG Mobile: The story so far
Ever since the game's ban in Sept. 2020, KRAFTON Inc. has been doing a lot to bring the game back to its many fans in India. The organization announced an investment of approximately INR 734,00,00,000 ($100 million) into the country and PUBG India Pvt. Ltd officially registered itself with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on Nov. 21st, 2020. KRAFTON also promised several changes in terms of content, data privacy and security. Then a few months ago, PUBG Mobile India released a teaser featuring TSM Entity JONATHAN, Kronten, and Dynamo. A full-fledged trailer featuring these three alongside Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi is also said to be in the works.
