PMWL 2020 East Super Weekend 2 Day 1: RRQ Athena Back On Top

The PUBG MOBILE World League Season Zero saw teams play on Day 1 of its second Super Weekend today. The top 16 teams from Week 2’s League Stage are battling it out to earn points towards the League Standings. Super Weekend games are some of the most important of PMWL because the points earned during these 3 days will decide which teams qualify for World League Finals.

At the end of PMWL Super Weekend 2 Day 1, RRQ Athena retained their position at the top of the leaderboard with 256 points. Bigetron RA is hot on their tail with 254 points, having picked up a Chicken Dinner in Match 5. GXR Celtz also nabbed themselves a Chicken Dinner in Match 1 and ranks behind them with 236 points. The day also saw KoG come very close to getting a Chicken dinner in Match 2 and 3 while TSM Entity earned their first Chicken Dinner of PMWL in Match 4.

South-East Asian Teams performance on Super Weekend 2 Day 1 of PMWL

RRQ Athena started the day making it to the final circle in Match 1. RRQ’s G9 took out SynerGE with a well-placed grenade. RRQ’s G9 was then in a 1v3 against GXR Celtz but Attanki took him out with a grenade. RRQ Athena generally stayed in the top half of the leaderboard except in the final match. They ended the day at the top of the PMWL leaderboard with 133 Placement Points and 123 Kill Points

Bigetron RA started the day placing 7th and 6th in Match 1 and 2 respectively. While Match 3 and 4 saw them slowly slip to the bottom of the leaderboard, they redeemed themselves in Match 5 with a Chicken Dinner. In Match 5, BTR’s Ryzen displayed an incredible performance picking up a whopping 8 kills. In the final circle with TeamIND and Orange Rock. Ryzen flanked TeamIND and gunned down the whole team. Later as Orange Rock took up a skirmish with BTR, downing both Microboy and Luxxy. Ryzen took over behind a tree and took out GiLL and Anto while Zuxxy took out Mavi to win them a Chicken Dinner.

King of Gamers played well today with an impressive performance in Match 2 where they made it to the final circle and picked up 8 kill points. However, they got taken down by Team Secret and lost the Chicken Dinner to them. History repeated itself in Match 3 as KoG made it to the final circle again and lost the Chicken Dinner to T1. Their 13 Kill Points put them in 2nd place in Match 5 despite only gaining 8 Placement Points. 

South Asian Teams performance on Super Weekend 2 Day 1 of PMWL

GXR Celtz started the first day of the Super Weekend with a bang, picking up a Chicken dinner in Match 1. They took down RRQ Athena and SynerGE’s players in the final circle. In Match 2 and 3, the team floundered a bit and landed in 11th place and 12th place respectively. However, in Match 4 they made it to the final circle against TSM Entity but lost the Chicken Dinner. GXR Celtz continued their impressive performance by ending in the top 10 in Match 5. They ended the day in 3rd place with a total of 88 Kill Points and 148 Placement Points.

TSM Entity did not start the day on a good note, coming in 15th place in Match 1 and Match 2. However, in Match 4, the team managed to make it to the final circle with FreeStyle and GXR Celtz. Neyoo was able to take down Attanki with a grenade in the final firefight, getting TSM Entity their first Chicken Dinner on the international platform.

SynerGE made it to the final circle of the first two matches. However, the team couldn’t manage to pick up a Chicken Dinner. As the day progressed, their performance started slipping and they eventually ended Match 5 in the bottom half of the leaderboard.
