Free Fire players can now unlock all the new characters without paying using the new LINK method.
This method allows non-paying Free Fire players to also unlock and claim all characters without requiring them to grind a lot or make a purchase.
As every character in Free Fire is unique and has its own set of abilities, it is great if a player has all the characters unlocked.

Free Fire is a mobile battle royale where character selection plays a very important role, as each one of them have their own respective set of abilities. With each character having its own set of strengths and weaknesses every one of them is useful in different situations.

This makes it very important to unlock new characters in Free Fire, but often this is not possible instantly as it requires a player to grind the game for quite some time in order to acquire a character of their choice.

While this was the case before the 'OB33 Update' came out, following its release character acquisition has become much simpler. This is because unlike previously, Free Fire players that do not spend anything within the game can also claim all the premium characters by utilizing the newly introduced 'LINK' system.

Guide to unlocking all Free Fire characters using the 'LINK' method

Having multiple Free Fire characters unlocked works out well for a user because each one of them is suited well for different situations. Also, every team might function well with a different set of characters so it is always favourable to keep them all around.

Here is the new 'LINK' method in Free Fire through which any character can be unlocked without spending any diamonds,

  • Step 1: Start by logging in to Free Fire and then go to the 'Character' section.

  • Step 2: Then click on the 'LINK' option which is available on the upper right corner.

  • Step 3: Follow up by clicking on the 'Plus' icon to select the desired Free Fire character.

  • Step 4: Once the character is selected, users will see a progress bar which is called the LINK progress. This will show how many points are required to unlock and claim that specific character. Generally these characters require 13,500 LINK progress points to be unlocked.

Two ways of obtaining these points are by playing Free Fire matches (1500 LINK points) and by exchanging gold (500 LINK points), when combined they can result in a user earning a maximum of 2,000 LINK points every single day.

One thing to keep in mind is that the number of gold required to claim 100 LINK points will increase after each draw,

    100 points - 200 gold (first draw)

    100 points - 400 gold (second draw)

    100 points - 600 gold (third draw)

    100 points - 1000 gold (fourth draw)

    100 points - 1500 gold (fifth draw)

This means that a total of 3700 gold needs to be spent each day to earn a total of 500 LINK points. As the user is earning 2000 LINK points each day, it will take one week or seven days to unlock one Free Fire character.

  • Step 5: Once a total of 13,500 LINK points are collected, a 'Claim' button in the bottom right corner will appear. Upon clicking it the character will be permanently unlocked and the user will be able to start playing with it.

Pressing the 'Claim' button will permanently unlock the Free Fire character

This process can be followed in a constant loop if the user plans on unlocking more Free Fire characters of their choice. This LINK method is extremely useful if the user wants to unlock a specific character urgently, or wants to try out some new character that has been newly added to the game.
