Honkai: Star Rail has a number of social features you can access to play with friends. The 1.1 Galactic Roaming update introduced a feature that lets you chat with friends in Honkai Star Rail. This feature was notably absent in version 1.0 of the game. The game’s user interface is fairly intuitive and you can spot the feature right in the main menu. For those new to the game and unfamiliar here is how you can chat with friends in Honkai Star Rail.
Honkai Star Rail: How to use the Friend Chat
The release of Honkai Star Rail 1.1, which featured Silver Wolf as the five-star banner character, also added a chat feature to the game. The chat feature is also present in developer HoYoverse's other games like Genshin Impact. The addition of the feature was delayed, leaving some fans disappointed when they didn't find it in the later updates. Chat was also not immediately available after the launch of Version 1.1. A week after the update, players discovered that the Friends Chat was already available in the game. Reddit user Sanuicay posted about the feature with a screenshot on the Honkai Star Rail subreddit. The image showed the player messaging their friend. Here is all you need to know about finding and using the chat feature in Honkai Star Rail.
You are able to talk to friends in Honkai Star Rail by accessing the chat feature accessible through the ‘Friends’ menu tab, located next to the ‘Store’ button. You’ll need to open the game, click the little phone icon located in the top left corner of the main menu screen. Once you’re done with that, select the ‘Friends’ option and select the first tab titled ‘My Friends’. From here you can now choose which friend you want to chat with by clicking on the chat icon. This will open a new chat window which will let you send messages while you’re in the game.
This isn’t the first time HoYoverse has quietly rolled out features for Honkai Star Rail between updates. Honkai Star Rail version 1.1 brought a number of quality of life updates to the game such as making collecting one of the resources more user-friendly and improving enemy AI so that enemies near the Bud of Harmony Calyx in Honkai: Star Rail are now turned around. Previously, these enemies could see fans whenever they came to this area, allowing them to ambush gamers not expecting an attack. Other additions in the patch included Luocha, Yukong and Silver Wolf as playable characters in the new banners. That’s all you need to know about the new chat feature in Honkai Star Rail.
