Is Genshin Impact Coming to Xbox? Details Inside

Genshin Impact is about to kick off its third-anniversary celebrations soon and players have burning questions regarding the game’s release on Xbox. It has been three years since the release of the game and the game continues to be available on just three platforms (PC, Mobile and PlayStation). While a Switch version of the game was officially teased a while back and it is in the works, Hoyoverse has been silent about the release of Genshin Impact on Xbox since release.

Players should not get their hopes up for Genshin Impact’s release on Xbox

It has been almost three years since Genshin Impact’s release and there is no official announcement regarding an Xbox version. Hoyoverse’s recent title, Honkai Star Rail, is also on the same platforms as its predecessor. The game is getting a PlayStation release by Q4 2023 but there is no word on an Xbox version so far.

With both Sony’s PlayStation consoles and Genshin Impact being massively popular in Asian markets, it makes sense why Hoyoverse is focusing its efforts to bring games to the PS4/PS5. There are over 40 Million PlayStation owners despite Sony’s stock shortages during the pandemic era. In comparison, Microsoft has sold around 21 Million Xbox Series S and X consoles. The Xbox market might not be big enough for Hoyoverse to make yet another version of the game with a vast majority of its playerbase being on mobile. 

If Hoyoverse does plan on bringing Genshin Impact to Xbox anytime soon, the publisher will make an announcement in the anniversary livestream that should take place as we approach the release of Fontaine.
