WoW Classic Guide: Here’s How You Can Get the Ancestral Sword in Phase 2 of SoD
World of Warcraft’s Season of Discovery (WoW SoD) has brought numerous enticing items, events, and weapons into the game for players to discover. Apart from new Runes and Skill Books, the game has also added weapons such as the mysterious Two-handed Ancestral Sword, which currently does not have a certain role attached to it.
However, many players suspect that its introduction might be interconnected to the Priest Runes whose quest paths have captivated the community's attention. Without further ado, here’s how to acquire this newly featured sword in WoW Classic.
How to Get the Ancestral Sword in WoW Classic Season of Discovery Phase 2?
Obtaining the Two-handed Ancestral Sword requires you to travel to Tirisfal Glades in the northern part of the Eastern Kingdoms. Once you reach the location, you must traverse through the Glades until you reach the Northeastern area, which is home to the popular Scarlet Monastery. This Horde Stronghold consists of many Scarlet Crusaders and is split into four different sections, each consisting of varied levels.
The Scarlet Monastery dungeon contains areas such as:
Graveyard: Levels 26 to 36
Library: Levels 29 to 39
Armory: Levels 32 to 42
Cathedral: Levels 35 to 45
Considering that the region is an end-game location, make sure you meet the level requirements or bring your party along to deal with the wide range of Scarlet enemies present within its walls. Thankfully, you need not venture into every section of this dungeon unless absolutely necessary, as killing foes even outside the dungeon has the chance to drop you the Ancestral Sword.
Here are all the enemies that have a chance to drop this weapon, according to WoWhead:
Scarlet Diviner
Scarlet Myrindon
Scarlet Monk
Scarlet Protector
Scarlet Evoker
Scarlet Champion
Scarlet Defender
Scarlet Wizard
Scarlet Adept
Scarlet Chaplain
Scarlet Scryer
Scarlet Centurion
Scarlet Gallant
Scarlet Abbot
Scarlet Soldier
Scarlet Guardsman
All of these mobs have at least a 1% chance of dropping the Ancestral Sword. However, you need to know that most of these elite enemies range anywhere from level 34 to 38, which means they are sure to put up a fight if you are underpowered.
After you successfully acquire the level 31 Ancestral Sword as a drop, you get access to its stats such as:
Damage: 17 to 46
Damage per Second: 10.16
Speed: 3.10
Durability: 65
Minimum Required Level: 26
Here is the sword’s description: "Passed down by a noble Lordaeron family. Once thought to be lost in the swamps around Kyross along with the last warrior to wield it."
