However, Last Epoch has a system that can skewer your odds and allow you to specialize in a specific type of loot. Last Epoch: What are Prophecies?

In Last Epoch, Prophecies are side objectives you can do to get some of the best loot in the game. The loot that each Prophecy gives is 100% guaranteed if you complete the task awarded to you. You must pick a Prophecy, do simple tasks such as taking out some targets, and collect your rewards.

Last Epoch: How to Get Prophecies?

Before you can unlock Prophecies, you must join the Circle of Fortune in the Upper District of Maj'Elka. 

You'll be able to locate four telescopes, and interacting with them will allow you to see Prophecies you can purchase. As mentioned before, Prophecies are tasks that can give you guaranteed loot, which takes the randomness out of drops. Keep in mind the available Prophecies are still random. After you've decided which Prophecy you want to purchase, you can get it with Favor. 

As you rank up in the Circle of Fortunate, you'll be able to get craftable lenses. These tools can push the odds in a specific direction and help you get better-quality loot. However, these lenses can also change the requirements to complete the Prophecy.

Last Epoch: How Can You Discard Prophecies?

You can also discard Prophecies in Last Epoch. To do this, visit the Faction Panel, choose the Prophecies tab, and see which ones you currently have active. While you're hovering over a Prophecy, press X to bring up a prompt confirming whether you want to abandon the Prophecy. Choose 'Confirm', and the Prophecy will disappear. It's worth noting that you can only have 48 Prophecies active at any one given time.
