Sigil Powder is an important resource in Diablo 4 Season 3 if you want to farm Nightmare Dungeons. Once you hit Level 50 and claim rewards from the Tree of Whispers for the first time, you will unlock your first Nightmare Sigil and the ability to craft/salvage Sigils using Sigil Powder. While lower-tier Sigils are very cheap to craft and do not require a lot of resources, Diablo 4’s Sigil Powder is in short supply if you want to push dungeons above Tier 35.
You will need to farm Sigil Powder in Diablo 4 from time to time if you do not have good Nightmare Sigils and want to salvage your existing inventory. Here is a rundown of the most efficient way to manage your Sigil Powder in the game.
How to get Sigil Powder in Diablo 4 Season 3
The only source of Sigil Powder is through salvaging sigils at any Occultist. You might be wondering why should you salvage a Nightmare Sigil when you can simply use it to get massive amounts of XP, Legendary items, Unique Items and Glyph XP. It is because some Nightmare Dungeons are simply too slow or frustrating depending on which Affixes you get.
The Suppressor Affix is one of the most annoying things you can roll on a Nightmare Sigil and you are better off Salvaging it. Resource Burn and Lightning Storm can also be just as frustrating and they can make clearing Dungeons a lot slower.
You can get Nightmare SIgils from Tree of Whispers cash-ins when you first enter World Tier 3. But when you start farming Nightmare Dungeons, you should consistently get more Sigils upon opening chests in the dungeons or by simply completing all the objectives.
When you get any Sigils that you do not want to use, you can Salvage Sigils at the Occultist and get Sigil Powder. Sigils cost anything between 3 and 450 Sigil Powder to craft depending on the difficulty you are targeting so you will need to salvage accordingly.
How to use Sigil Powder in Diablo 4
You can use Sigil Powder to craft Nightmare Sigils via the Occultist. This is a handy feature as you can select which difficulty you want to farm at. The game allows you to choose a Tier range for the Nightmare Sigils you are crafting.
Start with any level that you are comfortable with and try to push higher levels. Depending on what gear you have and how easily you can clear dungeons, you can choose Tiers based on whether you value XP more or efficiency.
Higher-tier dungeons offer more XP but can be slower to clear while you can breeze through lower-tier dungeons and they might be preferable if you simply want to farm aspects or uniques.
