Evil Geniuses (EG) has been on a roll at Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2023 Masters Tokyo. The team currently has a hot 3-0 winning streak at the tournament, already comfortably qualifying for the Upper Bracket semifinals in the playoffs. With all five members of EG popping off on the international stage, fans have not ignored the efforts of Evil Geniuses’ Valorant head coach potter. Christine "potter" Chi has been getting loads of love and support on social media, so much so that the head coach has her own fan following.

Potter & EG on a Cinderella run at VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo
On 16th June, Evil Geniuses took on storied team LOUD in the playoffs of VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo. Continuing its dominant winning streak, Evil Geniuses won the best-of-three (BO3) series with a 2-0 scoreline. Fans were extremely impressed with the way EG played and especially the team’s gameplay on Fracture.
For those of you who are new to the Valorant esports scene, it should be noted that potter is not a newcomer. In 2021, Evil Geniuses re-structured its Valorant team and announced potter as Evil Geniuses' Valorant Head Coach.
Following the release of Valorant, she was initially contributing to the broadcast as an analyst. As a long-time veteran pro player who has played in North American and international Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) tournaments, potter turned to Valorant esports.
In 2020, potter said that the urge to compete again resurfaced and in January 2021, she was announced as the captain of the new Evil Geniuses mixed Valorant roster.
Potter’s achievements not only influence Evil Geniuses but all women who aspire to carve a name for themselves in the cutthroat esports industry.
Potter is the only woman coaching any of the 30 partnered teams in the Valorant franchised league. She also became the first woman to win an international Valorant match as a coach when EG beat Team Heretics at VCT LOCK//IN earlier this year.
With EG finding success on the international stage, a lot of people who doubted potter’s ability as Evil Geniuses' Valorant Head Coach have been proven wrong.
Evil Geniuses will be playing Team Liquid in the upper bracket semi-finals on 19th June.
