Riot Games, on 26th September, announced that the Worlds 2023 anthem titled "Gods" will be performed by Korean-Pop (K-Pop) group NewJeans. Ever since the announcement went live, the League of Legends community has poured in immense support for the girl group and Riot Games. The Worlds 2023 anthem's music video will be centered around the story of Korean pro player and Worlds 2022 champion Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu and also around DRX, the underdog team that won Worlds 2022.
While the song is performed by NewJeans, it is written by Riot Games principal composer Sebastien Najand and Alex Seaver of Mako.
Having said all that, here's all you need to know about NewJeans, if you are new to the K-Pop fandom.
Meet Worlds 2023 Anthem Performer NewJeans

Notably, NewJeans is the latest K-pop girl group to reportedly break the Guinness World Record for "Fastest K-pop act to reach 1 Billion streams on Spotify." The group pulled it off in just 219 days, unseating BTS' Jungkook, who pulled off the same record in 409 days.
Talking about the Worlds 2023 anthem's collaboration, NewJeans reportedly said, “It was a new experience for all of us. It was fun to try a new genre and sound. Through this collaboration, we are happy to present a song that incorporates both NewJeans’ and League of Legends’ unique colors."
