Valorant Masters Madrid 2024 is the first international Valorant tournament of the year, featuring a total prize pool of $500,000 USD. This tournament brought together the eight best teams in the world and kicked off with top-tier action on 14th March. The eight participants qualified by placing top two in their respective regions, two each from Americas, EMEA [Europe, Middle East & Africa], Pacific, and China. However, only the top four moved onto the playoffs stage of Valorant Masters Madrid 2024.

Here are the four teams that have turned heads by qualifying for the Valorant Masters Madrid 2024 playoffs stage.


Teams That Have Made It Out of the Swiss Stage

If you have not been following the tournament so far, here's a quick breakdown of the format:

Swiss Stage

  • The eight teams will battle it out in a single bracket following the Swiss System format.

  • Every match will be a best-of-three series.

  • The opening matches have been set up between regional Kickoff winners and runner-ups from regions other than theirs.

  • Teams need to collect three wins before three defeats in order to qualify.

  • The top four teams will advance to Playoffs.

Playoffs

  • The four qualifying teams will face each other in a double-elimination bracket.

  • The opening matches will be based on a random draw by the organizers.

  • All matches will be best-of-three except for Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final which will feature best-of-five series.


Valorant Masters Madrid 2024: Top 4 Teams

On 18th March, the Swiss stage of the tournament came to a close and the top four teams were decided after days of intense Valorant action. After three rounds of matches, the following are the four teams that made it to the next stage:

  • Gen.G Esports (GEN)

  • Sentinels (SEN)

  • LOUD

  • Paper Rex (PRX)

Gen.G qualified for Playoffs with a swift 2-0 scoreline. It won series against LOUD and EDward Gaming (EDG) with 2-1 scores in the Swiss stage. Likewise, even Sentinels had a straightforward entry into the Playoffs. It won against Team Heretics (2-1) and Karmine Corp [KC] (2-0).

Meanwhile, LOUD and Paper Rex had to qualify through the Round 2 Low matches since they lost one series in the first round. While LOUD lost to GEN, it won against Fun Plus Phoenix (FPX) and EDG. Paper Rex lost a series to EDG but it won against TH and KC.


The Playoffs stage is set to take place from 21st March and it features a classic 'SEN vs LOUD' matchup as the second series of the day. The tournament will be broadcasted live across both Twitch and YouTube in English via the primary stream with other co-streams being run in multiple languages by various gaming creators and streamers.
