Sixteen teams from different regions will soon battle it out for the title of Valorant Champions in Istanbul, Turkey.

Valorant Champions 2022, the World Championship for Valorant esports, is kicking off on 31st August with sixteen teams from different regions competing for the coveted Champions trophy and a share of the prize pool. Riot Games announced that 50% of net proceeds from the sales of the Valorant Champions bundle will be given to the participating teams like last year. Notably, fans and Valorant players will be able to get their hands on the Champions Phantom with a unique aura this year and the Champions bundle will be available in the shop for a limited time. Riot also revealed that players will be given free rewards via Valorant Champions 2022 drops by tuning into the livestreams on Twitch and YouTube.

What are the Champions 2022 drops?

Valorant Champions 2022 allows players and fans to celebrate the international tournament by getting exclusive rewards in-game apart from the Champions 2022 Collection and the Free Event Pass. These Valorant Champions 2022 drops are free rewards that can be simply earned by watching a Valorant live stream during the tournament. However, you need to fulfill a certain set of criteria to be eligible to earn the drops.

What are the Champions 2022 drops schedule and rewards?

Players will get three free rewards via the drops during the Valorant Champions 2022 tournament. The rewards include a player title, a player card, and a spray cosmetic.

These rewards don’t all drop at once and players will have to watch the streams on particular days to unlock them.

The following is the drop schedule as noted by Riot Games:

  • 31st August to 13th September: “Fire” Title

  • 16th - 17th September: 2022 VCT Champions Curse Spray

  • 18th September: 2022 VCT Champions Hero Card

Valorant Champions 2022 drops

Watching live games during these mentioned time periods will allow the players to unlock the Valorant Champions 2022 drops. All three items will be directly sent to the players’ Valorant account. But before that players need to ensure that their Riot Games account is linked to YouTube or Twitch.


Free Champions Event Pass

Players will also be eligible to get free rewards by just playing games. Riot Games will be introducing a free Champions Event pass for players to unlock these rewards which include Radianite points, a gun buddy, and a spray among others.

It wrote, “Claim rewards worthy of a Champion–all you need to do is play. Starting August 23rd and lasting until 11 PM CEST on September 21st, you can progress through 7 levels of the in-game event pass and earn rewards along the way.

The rewards for each level are as follows:

  • Level 1 - “Jett Diff” Spray

  • Level 2 - “Gamer” Title

  • Level 3 - 10 Radianite Points

  • Level 4 - “NICE!” Player Card

  • Level 5 - “Potato” Title

  • Level 6 - 10 Radianite Points

  • Level 7 - “Champions 2022 Dad Hat” Buddy

Free Champions Event Pass
