Sixteen teams from different regions will soon battle it out for the title of Valorant Champions in Istanbul, Turkey.
Here’s everything you need to know about Valorant Champions 2022, starting with its Group Stage.

Valorant Champions 2022 is the culmination of this year’s Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) tournaments and all the top teams from all the participating regions shall go up against each other to win the title of “Champions” and get the lion’s share of the prize pool.

This is the second edition of Valorant Champions and is the crowning event of the VCT for the 2022 Valorant competitive season. Acend won Valorant Champions 2021 but failed to qualify for the event this year after losing to G2 Esports in the VCT 2022 EMEA Last Chance Qualifier.

Valorant Champions 2022 is all set to kick off on 31st August September and conclude on 18th September in Istanbul, Turkey. The tournament will host 16 teams from the regions of North America (NA), Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Korea (KR), Japan (JP), Brazil (BR), East Asia (EA), Asia Pacific (APAC), and Latin America (LATAM).

A guide to Valorant Champions 2022

The Valorant Champions is the final year of the competitive season and presents the globe with one winner. In its announcement, Riot Games said, “Our goal is to see our biggest international events played in front of a live audience and both of these cities [Copenhagen - Masters 2 & Istanbul - Champions] provided clear pathways towards this goal, while also providing the best possible guarantee that all qualified teams will be able to safely attend and compete.” So this offline event will have a live audience present at the venue, cheering for their favorite teams.

Valorant Champions 2022 is happening in Istanbul, Turkey

Format

  • A total of sixteen teams will participate

  • Ten teams directly made it from their respective regular season play and six teams qualified from the regional Last Chance Qualifiers.

  • The tournament is split into group stage and playoffs

  • Both stages of the tournament feature a double-elimination bracket

  • Four groups of four teams play in the group stage and the top two teams advance to playoffs.

  • Playoffs will feature eight teams in a double-elimination bracket

  • All matches are best-of-three (BO3)

  • The lower Bracket Final and Grand Final series are best-of-five (BO5)
