Tennis Star Daniil Medvedev Joins M80’s Ownership Group
On 10th November, Boston-based esports organization M80 announced that World No. 3 ranked professional tennis player Daniil Medvedev will join its ownership group.
Medvedev, who was named Rainbow Six: Siege game ambassador for Ubisoft last August, will advise the organization on esports endeavors and look to integrate his world-class experience with sports psychology across M80’s esports teams.
The news continues to highlight M80's marquee year where the organization has achieved immediate success across titles since launching in December 2022.
Daniil Medvedev Enters Esports With M80
M80, since its inception at the end of 2022, has seen a lot of successes across different esports titles. Its Rainbow Six: Siege team recently qualified for the Blast R6 Major Atlanta after a second-place finish at the $2 Million USD Gamers8 tournament which took place in July. Additionally, M80's Counter-Strike roster is slated to compete in the $500,000 USD Thunderpick World Championship in November 2023.
Apart from that, the organization also fields rosters in other major esports titles including Riot Games' first-person hero shooter, Valorant, Street Fighter and Rocket League.
Daniil Medvedev can be regularly spotted on the Rainbow Six: Siege ranked ladder between world-class tennis tournaments. He has also been a part of the game's Ambassador program since August 2023.
M80 stated that Daniil Medvedev will lean on his experience to help shape its world championship-caliber Rainbow Six: Siege roster and its other esports programs. He will also actively work to incorporate traditional sports psychology to give teams an edge in game.
