The partnership between Messi and Aguero once again will serve as an inspiration for current and future talents in the esports scene.

Sporting legend and football superstar Lionel Messi has stepped into the world of esports with KRÜ Esports. As the co-owner of KRÜ Esports, he joins hands with CEO Sergio Kun Agüero, his long-time friend and former teammate.

A press release from KRU Esports said, "The goal is to add their experience in the world of traditional professional sports to the universe of e-sports and new digital media."

KRÜ Esports also noted that the focus is on the growth and development of the world of competitive video games. The partnership of Messi and Agüero will not only bring influence and international fame, but will once again serve as an inspiration for esports talent.

Messi Enters World of Esports with KRÜ Esports

Former Manchester City, FC Barcelona, and Argentinian footballer Sergio Agüero was ardently streaming during the COVID-19 outbreak and fell in love with the gaming and esports scene. He became a prominent Twitch streamer around the same time as he was recovering from an injury. Agüero later established KRÜ Esports in late 2020.

KRÜ Esports fields teams in Valorant and Rocket League currently and boasts a big fandom in these titles. It also has many content creators and streamers under its banner.

Since then, they have teams that participate in well-known esports like Rocket League and Valorant. Welcoming Lionel Messi to KRÜ Esports, Agüero said he is happy to share a club with Messi and that too, in a new stage with new challenges. "It is an honor that he is part of KRÜ. He is the best footballer in history, and also a great friend. His presence is relevant because he projects values such as perseverance, humility and resilience." said Agüero. The CEO also added that Messi is an inspiration figure and exuded confidence in his ability to contribute to the scene.

Earlier in August, during Valorant Champions 2023, Agüero, who attended the LAN, said, "I want everyone who joins KRU to love what they do, to feel comfortable. Encourage them and help them fulfill their dreams. What we do gives us the opportunity to make many people happy and I really like all of this. I want more people in the world to know it and enjoy it like I do."

KRÜ Esports' press release said, "Along with the highest sports standards, KRÜ focuses on the generation of quality content, the development of events and exclusive experiences for the public. That is the essence of KRÜ: creating community, being a real club, generating content and entertainment."

The organization also noted that it would be hosting a party on 16th December to celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of this new stage. "It will be a celebration of KRÜ beyond esports, reconfirming the club as a meeting point for all scenes," it added.
