Highlights
The India and SEA qualifiers for the Skyesports Championship 4.0 Dota 2 tournament are currently taking place.
Two teams through the qualifiers will move ahead to compete in the grand final which will be taking place on LAN in Mumbai.
The Dota 2 tournament will be featuring a total prize pool of $15,000 USD.

Dota 2 tournament for the AMD Skyesports Championship 4.0 has started with its qualifiers for both India and Southeast Asia (SEA). While Indian teams and players will fight through the open qualifier, four teams from SEA have been handed direct invites to compete in a separate qualifier.

One team from each region qualify to the second set of qualifier and the top two teams from there will move on to the LAN final, which will be taking place in Mumbai sometime during mid-December

This event is being hosted for a total prize pool of $15,000 USD (INR 12,35,686) with the grand final set to take place offline in front of a live audience, alongside other titles like CS:GO and Pokemon UNITE.

Skyesports Championship 4.0 Dota 2 Tournament - Complete Details

Qualifiers for the Dota 2 tournament have been broadly divided into two different phases, the first phase comprising of two separate qualifiers one each for India and SEA, while the second phase will consist of a final decider through which the two finalists for the LAN event will be decided.

Skyesports Championship 4.0 - Dota 2 Qualifier Format

Phase 1

SEA Qualifier

A total of four teams have been invited for this stage of the qualifier from the SEA region,

  1. Reaper Hashtag

  2. Renewal Esports

  3. Neon Esports

  4. White Cat

These teams will be following a round-robin format where every match is a best-of-three series, taking on each other across three days from 3rd to 5th December.

Results

Neon Esports and Reaper Hashtag are the two Dota 2 teams from the SEA Qualifier that will be moving forward to the final set of qualifier, where they will be joined by two other Indian teams and the fight for the final two slots will continue to take place.

India Qualifier

Out of all the participants that registered for the India qualifiers, the final four teams still left standing are,

  1. Whoops!

  2. Standin 5

  3. Stylish Gamers

  4. Ragnarok

These teams will be following a single-elimination format where each match will be featuring a best-of-three series.

Results

Whoops! and Ragnarok are the two Dota 2 teams from the India Qualifier that will be moving forward to the final set of qualifier, where they will be joined by two other teams from SEA and fight for the final two slots will continue to take place.

Phase 2

The top two teams from both SEA and India Qualifier - Neon Esports, Reaper Hashtag, Whoops!, and Ragnarok will face each other in this final qualifier, following a double-elimination bracket where each match will be a best-of-three series, except for upper bracket final and grand final.

The top two teams will move ahead to compete on LAN in front of a live audience later this month.

Results

Neon Esports and Reaper Hashtag are the two Dota 2 teams that have managed to qualify for the grand final of Skyesports Championship 4.0 and will be competing on LAN in Mumbai on 24th December.

Note: Due to the finalists facing visa issues, the grand finals was played online on 19th December.

Prize Pool

The total prize pool of $13,500 USD was divided between the top four teams according to their final placement in the tournament.

The tournament has already started attracting an audience towards the game, hitting a peak of 1,400 concurrent viewers on Twitch during second day of the SEA Qualifier.

Those interested can tune in to the livestream which is being broadcasted in English across YouTube and Twitch. It will be interesting to see which two teams fight through the final qualifier and get an opportunity to compete in front of a live audience in India.
