It looks like Riot Games is set to release Valorant’s new agent soon. The community has dug out a player card that reportedly alludes to the next Valorant agent. This newly leaked player card is going to be available in the Battle Pass for Valorant Episode 8 Act 1. It is also being speculated that this new character will be a controller.
It is to be noted that Riot Games usually releases new agents with each new Episode. At the start of Valorant Episode 7, Riot Games noted that the game would see the addition of two new Agents and a map in 2023. Keeping up its word, it released Deadlock, the very recently added Iso, and the Sunset map.
Having said all that, here's all we know about the next Valorant agent, a supposed Controller.
Valorant New Agent: Code Name, Rumored Release Date & Other Details
Riot Games tends to drop easter eggs in its in-game assets like Player Cards and Sprays. One such easter egg was reportedly spotted in the Episode 8 Act 1 Battle Pass and the community was quick to realize that it is the next new Valorant agent.
The Battle Pass has one peculiar player card, with shades of purple and yellow covering it. It also has a big silhouette of what looks like a butterfly in the center with smaller ones around the boundaries of the player card.
Prominent leaker ValorLeaks on Twitter said, "New Agent Teaser | #VALORANT. Agent seems to be a Controller."
According to ValorLeaks, the Agent will reportedly be a new "Controller" and is speculated to get a release window during Valorant Episode 8 Act 2 in March 2024.
The leaker also added, "Card belongs towards the agent codenamed 'SmokeDancer'"
If the leaks are true, then Agent codenamed SmokeDancer will be the sixth controller in Valorant.

Controller agents usually have abilities that allow them to assist their teammates by denying enemies' vision, taking control of an area, and forcing enemies into choke points.
Fans and players of Valorant shared their thoughts on the newly leaked Controller agent. One Twitter user said, "The pink color remind(s) me of one character already known : Lucia Mondragon, the sister of Reyna. If Reyna take souls, Lucia can maybe heal theses souls. It would be the 3rd agent to be a healer with Sage and Skye."
Meanwhile, pro player Corbin "C0M" Lee commented, "GIVE ME NEW INITIATOR."
Notably, the last two agents that were recently released in 2023 were of differing roles:
