Highlights
Riot Games is releasing a micropatch this week to address some of the champions who were hit too hard during the previous patches.
The company already revealed that LoL Patch 12.12 will be a three-week patch and hence is immediately answering the outliers through micropatch 12.12b.
Meanwhile, LoL Patch 12.13 will be released on 13th July.

It has just been a few days since the latest League of Legends Patch 12.12 was released on the live servers and Riot Games is already gearing up to release a micropatch this coming week since this one is going to be a three-week-long patch. Lead Designer on Game Balance Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison confirmed on social media that the game will be receiving a new update in the form of League of Legends (LoL) Patch 12.12b, a micropatch, on 30th June (Thursday).

He said, “We're planning for a 12.12 micropatch to hit some outliers for 30 Jun and 12.11 champs that were hit too hard (Kat, Shaco). The rest will be in 12.13, but it will be delayed a week and start coming out ~July 12. Buffs for bursty champs are targeted at non-burst axes mostly.

This micropatch is targeted at champions who were given too much power through buffs or were hit too hard in the last patch. Notably, the image shared by Phroxzon had the champion buffs, nerfs, and adjustments listed for both LoL Patch 12.12b and LoL Patch 12.13, which is slated to get released on 13th July.

League of Legends Preview for LoL Patch 12.12b and LoL Patch 12.13

Changes listed for League of Legends Patch 12.12b

Champion buffs in League of Legends Patch 12.12b

The following are the champions who are getting buffs in the micropatch:

  • Shaco

  • Katarina

  • Leona

  • Caitlyn

Notably, Shaco and Katarina were given some changes in LoL Patch 12.12 and some of their item builds were targeted. Riot Games felt that a champion like Katarina should not be going for bruiser and tank builds and hence her attack damage (AD) ratios were decreased. Likewise, players were opting for safer builds on Shaco who already has a lot of survivability built in his kit. Therefore, Riot traded some of his durability for more burst.

Champion nerfs in League of Legends Patch 12.12b

  • Bel’Veth

  • Senna

  • Tahm Kench

  • Zeri

  • Wukong

  • Seraphine

  • Yuumi

Notably, in LoL Patch 12.12, Seraphine and Yuumi were buffed but Bel’Veth and Zeri were nerfed. Now again, these champions are seemingly powerful on the Rift and hence Riot is trimming down their powers.

Changes listed for LoL Patch 12.13

As we know, LoL Patch 12.13 will be released on the live servers on 13th July and this patch will also introduce the players to the new Star Guardian event.
