The dust is yet to settle on the Summoner’s Rift from the release of Void Empress Bel'Veth and Riot Games is already gearing up to introduce a new champion to the League of Legends (LoL) lineup. On 16th June, Riot released a 12-second teaser trailer that might be suggesting a new champion joining the game’s ever-growing roster. Along with the teaser, Riot wrote, “The waters of life flow on forever. Whose story will they tell? From distant shores, tomorrow.”
Fans are surefire that the new champion is called Nilah from the plethora of leaks that have flooded social media timelines in the last month or so and also because of Riot Games reportedly mentioning “Nilah” on its Facebook page.
League of Legends 161st champion could be Nilah
The teaser is set in a location that is covered with dark, shadowy mists. As thunder erupts in the sky, and as waves crash onto the broken and decimated dock, a mysterious silhouette walks closer. For a split second, with a white light emerging from underneath the figure, one can tell that the champion might be wearing a costume that resembles a saree.
Riot Games talked about a stranger from the land of a thousand colors who supposedly has a joyous laugh in its latest LoL Champion Roadmap and on the League of Legends Season 2022 Opening Day livestream, Lead Producer of Champions Ryan “Reav3” Mireles talked about a non-traditional bot-laner. The company also shared an image covered in blue and purple hues that seemed like numerous hands making a formation.
What we know about League of Legends Champion Nilah
The champion’s weapon is speculated to be a whip. According to leaks, this champion’s whip weapon was inspired by Akali’s champion design and concept art by Riot Games. Additionally, the champion is rumored to be a human who shall have a pet.
League of Legends Ability expectations
The champion’s Q ability is supposedly going to have multiple activations like that of Yasuo’s and Aatrox. The first instance of Q is likely to be in a straight line cast like Tahm Kench Q, the second is a sweep like Samira’s melee Q, and the third is a circle like Hecarim’s Q. Their passive is rumored to be several different bubbles with each one of them having a different effect ranging from a shield to Graves’ smokescreen.
Nilah, who could potentially be the new non-traditional bot-laner, is rumored to be getting a Star Guardian skin upon release. The star guardian skins and its corresponding event are supposedly releasing in LoL Patch 12.13 or LoL Patch 12.14. As a result, Nilah could be expected to be released around the same time around 13th July and 27th July, the scheduled dates for these patches.
With strong themes of water and bubbles involved, the new champion could be associated with water bodies and their kit could be in line with the same concept.
