Right on cue, Riot Games is already working on its next patch for League of Legends and this time, it is focusing on attack speed for mage champions.
Riot also has an update in line for Janna as she continues to struggle in the game.
Here's all you need to know about LoL Patch 13.22.

Riot Games releases a new patch update for League of Legends every two weeks to ensure that the game is well maintained. In between updates, the changes are tested out on a separate server called the Public Beta Environment (PBE). On cue, following the roll out of LoL Patch 13.21's release on 25th October, Riot Games started testing changes for the next patch.

On 31st October, Lead Designer: League Balance Team & Preseason Matt Leung-Harrison aka Riot Phroxzon previewed the upcoming patch on his Twitter, explaining all the changes in detail.

Here's all you need to know about LoL Patch 13.22.

Major Changes in LoL Patch 13.22

In short, players can expect to see the following changes in LoL Patch 13.22:

Mage Attack Speed: Riot Games feels that players have been picking the attack speed rune on mages, indicating mages' slow attack frames. The developer noted that the mages' attack speed is pretty outdated.

Janna Changes: Riot feels that Janna's play experience has gotten less satisfying over time. It thinks that Janna's old kit was more satisfying for players. As a result, portions of her kit will get reverted to reflect her old abilities.

Jungle Changes: While there are no actual jungle changes this patch, Riot Games will be making changes to champions within the jungle.

Apart from these major changes, Riot Games will be doing its usual balancing for the outliers.

Phroxzon noted that the rest of the champions mentioned in LoL patch 13.22 either "benefited directly from 13.20 (and follow up changes) from scaling or are just strong on the patch and need to be tapped down some."

Champion Buffs and Nerfs in LoL Patch 13.22

The following are the champions who are getting buffed in LoL Patch 13.22:

  • Dr. Mundo

  • Mage Attack Speed sweeping change

  • Rammus

Phroxzon said, "We're going to be setting the mage Attack Speed values to what feels right first, such that the mages don't feel required to take the shard [rune] and then address any balance fallout after."

Meanwhile, the champions getting nerfed are as follows:

  • Briar

  • Graves

  • Kassadin

  • Nilah

  • Senna

  • Tahm Kench

  • Ziggs

As usual, there are a couple of champion adjustments as well. They are Janna, Seraphine and Brand's transition from a support role into a mid-laner and a jungler.

  • North America: 3 am PT
