Riot Forge announced three new League of Legends-lore-based games for 2023.
The three games are The Mageseeker featuring Sylas, Convergence starring Ekko, and Song of Nunu featuring Nunu and Willump.

While League of Legends has stunning background stories and rich lore for its champions, the actual nature of the gameplay of this MOBA [Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Video game] does not let players enjoy the beauty of the Runeterra universe. An answer to this hiccup is Riot Forge, a publishing label within Riot Games, that works with outside developers and third-party studios to create new games set in the League of Legends universe. On 15th February, Riot Forge gave a sneak peek of what’s in store for 2023 to the player base and revealed three new games that are coming to both PC and console this year.

The three games that will release in 2023 under the Riot Forge label are Song of Nunu, Convergence, and The Mageseeker.

Here’s all you need to know about the three games by Riot Forge.

The Mageseeker, Convergence, and Song of Nunu at a glance

In its announcement blog, Riot Forge said, “Get ready for a year of adventure! On behalf of the Riot Forge team and our partner studios, we invite you to gaze into the forge for a peek at our new games. Song of Nunu, Convergence and The Mageseeker are all coming in 2023 to both PC and console.

The Mageseeker stars Demacian champion Sylas. This League of Legends story, according to the publisher is, “a gritty 2D hi-bit pixel action RPG [role-playing game] where you’ll bring Demacia to its reckoning.” Notably, Sylas was released in League of Legends in January 2019. For those unaware of Demacia, it is a nation that uses mageseekers to search and hunt down mages to either eliminate their abilities, imprison them, or turn them into mageseekers. According to the lore, “Having now broken free, Sylas lives as a hardened revolutionary, using the magic of those around him to destroy the kingdom he once served… and his band of outcast mage followers seems to grow by the day.” This 2D action RPG will reportedly let players raise a rogue mage army and lead a revolution against the kingdom of Demacia.

Riot Forge noted that the Mageseeker will be available in Spring 2023 and that it is developed by Digital Sun, the studio behind Moonlighter.

Coming to Convergence, this game is a single-player 2D action platformer that will allow players to take “control of the clock.” The game features Ekko, the boy who shattered time, as the main character. Many of you might recognize Ekko from the hit TV series Arcane. Riot Forge announced that Convergence will be available in Summer 2023.

Lastly, fans were also treated to the Song of Nunu game by Forge. The announcement read, “A League of Legends Story, developed by Tequila Works. This heartwarming single-player adventure game featuring BFFs Nunu and Willump will be available in Fall 2023.

The tentative launch timelines for the three games are as follows:

  • The Mageseeker: Spring 2023

  • Convergence: Summer 2023

  • Song of Nunu: Fall 2023
