During the week two post-match interview, alecks explained why Paper Rex's double duelist setup fell short against Team Secret.
Alecks mentioned that the team was simply not aggressive enough with the composition of agents they were running.
D4v41 agreed with the coach and said that they should have been more explosive.

Paper Rex is one of the strongest Valorant teams from the Southeast Asia (SEA) region, and it is currently ranked fifth on the leaderboard of the VCT 2023: Pacific League, winning its first match against DetonatioN FocusMe and losing to Team Secret in the subsequent series.

During the post-match scrum interview session, Alexandre "alecks" Sallé, Paper Rex's coach, went on to discuss the reason behind their double duelist strategy falling short against Team Secret, which resulted in a close 2-1 loss for the side.

This is why the double duelist strategy did not work for Paper Rex against Team Secret

After sweeping DFM in its opening match of the league, Paper Rex seemed to showcase solid form. Its second-week bout against Team Secret was always predicted to be a hard clash but the team was confident that it could pull off another win.

However, after a long-drawn brawl, it was Team Secret that came out on top with a 2-1 series win, barely escaping the aggressive double duelist strat that was deployed by Paper Rex across all three maps - Haven, Fracture, and Split.

Speaking about what went wrong with their plan, alecks simply said that they should have been more aggressive with the lineup of agents that they were running across all three games.

"To be honest, I think we weren't as aggressive as we should have been. I think that was a big reason why we lost the last two maps. With a double duelist combination, we should have been in their faces a lot more, we should have been taking a lot more risks, but we were a bit too careful on Fracture and Split, which ultimately cost us the match," explained alecks, disappointed but not majorly upset with the overall outcome.

Khalish "d4v41" Rusyaidee, who was also part of this interview was in complete agreement with what the coach had to say, "Yeah, I agree. I think we should have been a bit more explosive since we were running two duelists."

Paper Rex is still one of the top contenders in the league and still has seven more matches left to play. Paper Rex will take on T1 today (8th April) from 17:30 IST onwards.
