Overwatch 2 teased the reveal of its newest hero and fans will not have to wait very long. It was already made clear that players would get a new hero with the release of the Season Two Battle Pass which is scheduled to begin on 6th December. However, even before that Activision Blizzard has planned a sneak peek for the fans, giving juicy details about the new hero. In just a few more hours, the new hero will be revealed on the Overwatch League (OWL) broadcast on 4th November. Notably, the Overwatch 2 development team will join the broadcast and reveal the much-anticipated new character.
Already, Blizzard treated its Overwatch 2 fanbase by giving away “postseason perks” to those tuning into the last few days of the 2022 Overwatch League between 30th October and 4th November. The Overwatch League season is in its fifth season in 2022 and is played on an early build of Overwatch 2, whereas the previous four seasons were played out on the original title.
Overwatch 2 will tease new hero
Late on 3rd November, the official Overwatch Twitter account posted, “Get an early look at the next #Overwatch2 hero. Friday, Nov 4 at #OWLGrandFinals. Tune in 👀” This new hero is confirmed to be revealed during the Overwatch League grand finals on 4th November but the publisher has not discussed at what time it will show off the character.
There are speculations that Mauga could be the newest hero coming to Overwatch 2. However, there is no official confirmation on who the hero could be.
What’s happening in the Overwatch League?
The OWL 2022 Playoffs kicked off on 30th October and will conclude on 4th November with the grand final. The following is the format of the league:
The top six teams in the West and three in the East automatically qualify for Playoffs.
Two teams in the West and one in the East qualify for Playoffs through Countdown Cup, a tournament that functions as the play-ins for the 2022 Overwatch League Playoffs
The twelve playoff teams are seeded in a double-elimination bracket
Seeds 1-4 select their second-round opponents.

The top three teams of the OWL 2022 Playoffs are Dallas Fuel, Houston Outlaws and The San Fransisco Shock. Dallas Fuel and Houston Outlaws faced each other in the Upper Bracket final and after winning this match, Dallas Fuel has locked in its grand final ticket. Following this, Houston Outlaws will take on San Francisco Shock in the Lower Bracket final and the winner of this match will face Dallas Fuel in the Final on 4th November.
The Overwatch 2 hero reveal will take place during the final stream starting during the live OWL broadcast and fans can watch it live on the Overwatch YouTube channel. The match is scheduled to begin around 10 pm EST.
According to the OW2 roadmap, new heroes will be released regularly with new seasons, and season two’s new hero has already been confirmed as a tank.
