League of Legends Patch 13.9 hit the live servers on 3rd May and right after the patch went live, Riot Games revealed some massive system changes that will significantly change the way the game is played, especially the laning phase. The changes are already live on the game’s Public Beta Environment (PBE) and some of the systems undergoing changes next patch include turrets, Unleashed Teleport, Minions, jungle plants, and more. Additionally, apart from these system changes, the publisher is also bringing in a plethora of changes to the Mythic items in the game. 

LoL Patch 13.10 will also be reintroducing fan-favorite items such as Statikk Shiv and a revamped Athene’s Unholy Grail.

Addressing tower diving and laning phase in LoL Patch 13.10

Game Designer Tim “Truexy” Jiang took to Twitter to reveal the next set of changes planned in League of Legends Season 13. He wrote. “Now that it's on PBE, here are some harder-to-find changes that will also be coming in 13.10. These are mostly trying to put more of an emphasis on lengthening the laning phase by hitting some roaming/ganking/tower diving power.

The systems that are getting addressed are as follows:

  • Minions

  • Unleashed Teleport

  • Turrets

  • Homeguard - Passive effect that increases the champion's movement speed while on the fountain.

  • Fountain

  • Jungle plants

The developer added, “This means less games where roams from other lanes instantly end your laning phase by easily diving you and taking numerous 175 gold tower plates. I think most of these are on PBE but have to do a QA sweep to be sure.


All system changes in LoL Patch 13.10 explained

The following are the major changes you should expect to have an impact on your games in LoL Patch 13.10:

Minions

  • Except for the first spawn of minions, mid-lane minions will meet at the same time as side lanes (side-lane minions sped up).

  • Minions that have targeted an enemy tower will ignore "call for help" signals to target enemy champions.

Unleashed Teleport

  • Upgrade Time :: 14 minutes >>> 10 minutes

Turrets

  • Plate Rushdown Resistances (20 seconds after taking a plate):: 0-180 (based on the number of champions) >>> 45-225 (based on the number of champions)

Homeguards

  • Normal Homeguard Start Time :: 20 minutes >>> 14 minutes

Fountain

  • Mana Regen Per 0.25s Tick:: 2.1% Max Mana >>> 3.1% Max Mana

Jungle Plants

  • Blast Cone (over the river walls) Initial Respawn: 5:00-5:30>>> 9:00-9:30

It will be interesting to see how these system changes coupled with the item changes will pan out in the game. According to the official schedule, LoL Patch 13.10 will go live on the servers on 17th May.
