Riot Games is looking to stabilize the League of Legends meta before heading into the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) tournament in 2023. In preparation for the tournament and to make sure that the meta is not too one-sided the company is balancing a long list of champions as mentioned in the preview of LoL Patch 13.7.  As per routine, Lead Designer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison shared the patch preview on Twitter.

Riot Phroxzon said, “We're 2 patches away from MSI! Meta looks close, but some adjustments. Buffs to Azir, Katarina (+nerf to DS [Divine Sunderer] build), and some fringe champs. Nerfs to the JG [jungle] S-tier, Thresh CC [crowd control] chain, Zeri, and some high WR [win rate] champs like Rammus, and Veigar. Adjust to Kha’Zix W (nerf) vs Q evolves (buff).”

Here’s everything you need to know about LoL Patch 13.7’s early notes.

Buffs in LoL Patch 13.7

The champions getting buffed are as follows:

  • Azir

  • Katarina

  • Kalista

  • Graves

  • Alistar

  • Yasuo

Death’s Dance item is getting a System buff.

Champions, system nerfs in LoL Patch 13.7

The champions getting their powers toned down in LoL Patch 13.7 include high win-rate champions, some junglers, bruisers, and tanks that have been dominating the meta. The following are the champions getting nerfed alongside their current win rate in 13.6 (Platinum+ ranks), according to U.GG:

  • Rammus - 51%

  • Veigar - 52.68%

  • Olaf - 52.26%

  • Sejuani - 49.56%

  • Vi - 50.35%

  • Wukong - 51.26%

  • Lee Sin - 49.63%

  • Zeri - 50.35%

  • Annie - 52.9%

Notably, all these champions have a win rate that's close to 50% or higher in Solo Queue.

Rod of Ages is also queued for a nerf in this patch. Meanwhile, Kha’Zix and Thresh are getting adjusted along with Cosmic Drive.

According to Riot Games’ official patch schedule, Patch 13.7 is expected to go live on the servers on 5th April (Wednesday). Since Riot Games has stated that the Mid-Season Invitational 2023 is two patches away, it is likely that the tournament will be played on LoL Patch 13.8. Therefore, it makes 13.7 all the more crucial so that the company can gauge the meta and make the necessary changes in the coming two weeks.
