After three days of intense Fortnite Zero Build Matches at Gamers8, Japko and Kami were crowned the winners of the event, taking home $500,000 USD and lifting the coveted trophy. A total of 44 duos participated in the Gamers8 Fortnite 2023 event where 30 qualified from DreamHack, five made it from the Middle East Qualifier, and the remaining nine were invited to the event directly.
Japko and Kami showed total dominance at the event, securing 4019 in the three-day tournament. Meanwhile, runners-up FHD and Hero won $300,000 USD. The third and fourth-placed duos Escdark and GntL, and Refsgaard and zAndy, won $200,000 USD and $150,000 USD, respectively.
Gamers8 Fortnite 2023 Event Recap
While the Gamers8 Fortnite 2023’s main event began on 7th July, over 40 teams participated in the Middle East Qualifier on 6th July to make it to the main stage. The event boasted a total prize pool of $2 Million USD and teams participated in three days of Fortnite action on LAN, playing six matches/rounds per day.
On all three days, Kami and Japko showed great consistency and steadily picked up a lead. Here are their points from all three days:
Day 1: 1480 (placed 1st)
Day 2: 1225 (placed 3rd)
Day 3: 1314 (placed 4th)
Despite the increased point values on day three, Kami and Japko's lead was too high for other teams to overcome. In the end, Kami and Japko had a staggering 4019 points.
Meanwhile, Middle Eastern duo Hero and FHD also had a remarkable run at the tournament, ending on a high on Day 3 of Gamers8 Fortnite 2023. The duo earned two Victory Royales during the event and scored 3,381 points at the end, finishing second. The top three duos were rounded out by yet another Middle Eastern duo – Escdark and GntL – with 3,349 points.
Apart from the main winners, Gamers8 Fortnite 2023 also distributed other awards at the event. They are as follows:

Day 2 MVP: GntL
The Gamers8 Fortnite 2023’s ‘Tournament MVP’ was Kami, who was also awarded an additional $20,000 USD. The winning duo – Kami and Japko – had the most eliminations (87) at the event, which netted it another feather on the cap and a $20,000 USD prize money for the award.

Gamers8 is one of the largest gatherings of games and esports and is dubbed a destination for elite esports athletes and gamers from around the world. Organized by the Saudi Esports Federation, Gamers8 2023 kicked off on 6th July and will come to a close on 31st August. The event this year is called ‘The Land of Heroes’ and is featuring a total of 13 esports tournaments with a combined prize pool of $33.5 Million USD.
