At the start of the New Year, Riot Games released its 2024 State of the Game update and in it, it announced that its flagship title, League of Legends, will be receiving its own Hall of Fame. Here's all you need to know about Riot Games' Hall of Fame for League of Legends.
LoLEsports Hall of Legends Introduced by Riot Games
On 15th January, Riot Games posted an epic announcement video for Hall of Legends that featured several iconic champions in the game. The narrative of the announcement focused on how these legends of League esports have reached greatness. It said, "Every path begins with mastery. The game sense, the mechanics, the foundation. But mastery alone is not enough. They need resilience, the mental fortitude to clutch time and time again."
These inductees into the inaugural Hall of Fame will be pro players who have all led, carried, and unlocked their teams' true potential to play beyond their highest caliber.
It should be noted that Riot Games has already begun its selection process for the first inductees. However, fans have been suggesting different pros to be a part of this iconic history.
Riot Games said, "There are a number of pro players worthy of being inducted into our unique version of a Hall of Fame. We gathered an independent voting panel of esports industry veterans and experts from every region to vote and select our very first inductee."
On Reddit, fans have been talking about some of the players that they would love to see in the Hall of Legends. One Redditor said, "I just want Diamondprox there, I would give everything for that." It should be noted that Danil "Diamondprox" Reshetnikov is often regarded as the inventor of counter-jungling in League of Legends.
Another user said, "Probably not gonna happen but I hope MADLIFE will be inducted." Hong "MadLife" Min-gi was considered one of the best supports in the world. He was particularly known for his play-making skillshot-based champions like Thresh and Blitzcrank.
While we do not know the specifics of the Hall of Legends and its workings currently, what we do know is that those pros named as inductees would likely get in-game features by way or skins or other cosmetics.
