During a recent livestream session, Rushindra Sinha - CEO and Founder of Global Esports, discussed the upcoming tournament while giving his predictions on how the already announced brackets might progress.
CEO of Global Esports predicts how the Group Stage of VCT 2023 São Paulo could play out
All the predictions made by Rushindra were based on his own thoughts and analysis. Obviously, there are bound to be differences in opinions based on every individual, so there is nothing to hate about.
Having said that do you think Global Esports has what it takes to qualify for the Playoffs of VCT 2023 São Paulo? Well, here is what the organization's CEO thinks may happen at the LAN event taking place in Ginásio do Ibirapuera, Brazil.
Before we get to the predictions, do keep in mind that the 32 teams have been divided into two groups of 16 teams each, following a single-elimination format where all matches are best-of-three. The top two teams from each group shall move ahead to the Playoffs.
Alpha Group
The 16 teams that are a part of this group are as follows:
KOI
NRG Esports
DetonatioN FM
Giants
Gen.G Esports
LOUD
FunPlus Phoenix
Karmine Corp
BBL Esports
DRX
Cloud9
Paper Rex
Evil Geniuses
Team Heretics
MIBR
Talon Esports
The two teams that will be making it through to the Playoffs according to Rushindra from this Group Stage are NRG Esports and DRX.
He believes that NRG has what it takes to reach the Playoffs and puts complete faith in the North American roster. After predicting a semifinal match between NRG and LOUD, Rushindra provides the following reason for choosing the former as the possible winner of this series,
"I want NRG to win. So, this is hopium. I am very good friends with guys at LOUD and I would love to see them in the semifinals (Playoffs), but I want to see NRG play against DRX. That is the reason!"
As for DRX, Rushindra while appreciating the team sums up his reason for backing the South Korean lineup by saying "I think right now they are the biggest threat in Asia. They are so good."
Omega Group
The 16 teams that are a part of this group are as follows:
Team Liquid
Team Secret
NAVI
KRÜ Esports
ZETA Division
Leviatán
Team Vitality
Global Esports
FUT Esports
Rex Regum Qeon
100 Thieves
EDward Gaming
Sentinels
FNATIC
T1
FURIA
The two teams that will be making it through to the Playoffs according to Rushindra from this Group Stage are Global Esports and 100 Thieves.
Picking his own organization and showing complete faith in the boys, he says "I don't know why that was even an option. If you thought that I would pick Vitality, even by mistake, then you were wrong."
Moving on to the quarterfinal match, Rushindra remarks that it is going to be a tough fight for Global Esports against Leviatán, "It is going to be a tough fight but as always we are just going to say 'GE Fighting' and move ahead."
For the predicted semifinal match (Group Stage) between Global Esports and NAVI, Rushindra straight up said that he would pick the former because it is his own team but this could be their toughest fight ever if they manage to reach that far.
On the other hand, Rushindra backed 100 Thieves to reach the Playoffs, another team from North America, keeping his reasoning clear and simple, "I think 100 Thieves because they are looking strong."
This was the complete Group Stage prediction made by Rushindra Sinha for the upcoming VCT 2023 São Paulo. To conclude this session on a lighter note, he stated "See, if you want to play based on hopium, then lets atleast go all the way."
